Build and scale Beacon’s governance, risk, compliance, and privacy function across the company and its portfolio of SaaS businesses. Lead enterprise security, AI and data governance, privacy, third-party risk, and posture reporting. Build scalable recruiting systems across corporate and portfolio companies, partner on headcount planning and offers, and establish repeatable processes from scratch in a fast-moving, multi-entity environment.

Product Counsel will advise Beacon and its portfolio companies on product development, IP strategy, technology agreements, open-source compliance, AI and emerging technology, regulatory issues, and M&A technology diligence. The role manages patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, licensing, product terms, and scalable legal playbooks while partnering directly with product, engineering, and commercial teams across multiple industries.

Lead growth initiatives across Beacon’s portfolio companies by identifying opportunities, prioritizing and launching revenue-driving experiments, optimizing marketing funnels and growth loops, and building repeatable go-to-market systems. The role combines copywriting, paid acquisition, outbound, landing-page development, SEO, analytics, and hands-on experimentation, while partnering with product leads and company GMs. The successful candidate may also hire and develop additional growth talent.

Serve as the primary internal legal lead for mergers and acquisitions from LOI through closing and post-closing. Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating purchase agreements, conducting broad legal due diligence, advising investment and operations teams, managing external counsel, addressing risk allocation and post-closing obligations, and developing AI-assisted legal workflows. The role requires independently managing multiple transactions, communicating clearly with business stakeholders, and applying broad legal judgment across corporate, commercial, employment, IP, regulatory, and real estate matters.

Lead HR business partnering and People Operations across Beacon and acquired companies. Partner with executives on people strategy, organizational design, talent planning, retention, change management, and leadership development. Coach managers, oversee employee relations and core people programs, and manage workforce data, HR systems, vendors, compliance controls, and lifecycle operations. Build scalable HR processes across distributed and potentially global teams in a fast-growing technology environment.

Own full-cycle technical recruiting for engineering, product, and adjacent roles across Beacon and its portfolio companies. Partner with technical leaders on hiring strategies, source candidates through diverse channels, manage data-driven recruiting processes in Ashby or Greenhouse, close candidates through competing offers, and support employer brand building. The role requires strong technical fluency, polished communication, self-direction, and experience hiring senior engineers in fast-growing environments.

Own product outcomes for 2–5 portfolio companies, leading planning, roadmaps, prioritization, customer discovery, sprint execution, and feature launches. Partner with founders, GMs, engineers, designers, and commercial teams to ship software and improve business results. Develop scalable product playbooks across companies, coach product talent, and potentially lead a team while shaping product strategy across an industry vertical.

Lead product design engagements across Beacon’s portfolio companies, from customer discovery and problem definition through delivery, adoption, measurement, and handoff. Partner with operators, product teams, engineers, and designers to create reliable software and AI-enabled workflows, validate solutions with customers, manage risk and human review, and demonstrate measurable improvements in productivity, quality, cost, or task completion.

Lead end-to-end mergers and acquisitions, including sourcing, underwriting, diligence, financial modeling, transaction execution, founder relationships, and post-acquisition integration. The role also contributes to Beacon’s investment strategy, capital allocation, portfolio operations, and AI-enabled M&A tools. Success requires strong financial, strategic, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, along with the ability to manage multiple transactions autonomously.

Lead end-to-end M&A execution, including sourcing, underwriting, valuation, financial modeling, diligence, investment committee memoranda, acquisition integration, and portfolio support. Build AI-enabled M&A tools and collaborate with investment, executive, engineering, legal, HR, tax, and value creation teams. Manage relationships with business owners, advisors, bankers, and internal stakeholders while evaluating software acquisitions and developing integration strategies.

Privacy Counsel will build and lead Beacon’s enterprise privacy program across the company and its portfolio. Responsibilities include M&A privacy diligence and integration, policy and template development, multi-jurisdictional compliance, breach response, vendor privacy management, AI privacy guidance, and employee training. The role partners with legal, IT, engineering, product, governance, risk, and operations teams to establish scalable privacy frameworks across U.S., Canadian, and EU/UK jurisdictions.

Build proactive pipelines for engineering and product talent across Toronto, San Francisco, and New York. Develop multi-channel sourcing strategies, conduct personalized outreach, calibrate candidates with recruiters and hiring managers, track sourcing metrics, maintain accurate records in Ashby, and monitor talent-market trends. The role requires strong technical sourcing experience, written communication, pipeline organization, and proficiency with LinkedIn Recruiter and related sourcing tools.

Lead a portfolio company’s engineering function by writing production code, modernizing the software development lifecycle, coaching engineers, setting the product roadmap, and implementing AI-powered development and product capabilities. The role requires rapidly learning unfamiliar technology stacks, improving legacy codebases without rewrites, operating independently, and partnering closely with general managers, operators, and customers.
