Lead design and implementation of cloud-native, microservices backend systems that power AI-enabled features (LLM assistants, RAG pipelines, recommendations). Build scalable REST and event-driven APIs, establish MLOps practices, ensure reliability/security/observability, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, scientific, and infrastructure teams to productionize AI services in regulated scientific environments.

Provide first-line technical support for Protein Simple instrumentation and software via phone, email, chat, and video. Troubleshoot issues, document cases in Salesforce, escalate complaints, maintain technical resources and training materials, and relay Voice of Customer to internal teams. Stay current on products and follow SOPs and safety guidelines.

The Staff Systems Engineer will lead systems engineering initiatives for analytical instruments, focusing on requirements development, integration, testing, and project management while mentoring junior engineers.

Design and implement test automation for instrument software, data pipelines, cloud analytics, and AI/ML outputs. Build data validation frameworks, schema and pipeline checks, integrate tests into CI/CD, validate ELN/LIMS interoperability, ensure traceability and regulatory Quality System compliance, and contribute to test solution architecture and orchestration.

Provide technical support and guidance for probe-related issues, assist customers with assays, and ensure customer satisfaction through troubleshooting and training.

Serve as a site HR generalist and strategic partner supporting leaders and employees across the employee lifecycle. Lead talent management, leadership development, employee relations investigations, performance and succession planning, compliance with local regulations, and People projects. Drive process improvements, onboarding/offboarding, and global HR initiatives to enhance employee experience in a matrix, global organization.

The Staff Scientist will lead process optimization and validation strategies for life science instruments, focusing on problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration to improve product performance.
