Leads Common Sense Media’s external communications, narrative strategy, media relations, rapid-response communications, major announcements, events, spokesperson activities, media training, and brand stewardship. The role develops strategic communications plans, builds journalist relationships, secures high-impact coverage, elevates organizational experts, and connects communications efforts to advocacy and brand outcomes.

Develops and executes communications strategy focused on children’s online safety, privacy, AI, and digital equity. Creates statements, op-eds, press releases, policy briefs, speeches, talking points, and other content; builds media relationships; secures coverage; translates complex policy into accessible messaging; supports advocacy campaigns and rapid response; and prepares executives, staff, parents, and teen advocates for media and public engagements.

Edit and develop AI-focused research reports, articles, essays, interviews, newsletters, podcasts, videos, and social content. Translate complex technical and academic material for broad audiences, uphold editorial standards, fact-check sensitive claims, and guide projects from conception through publication. Serve as deputy editor and trusted partner to the Head of Public Engagement, maintaining editorial quality, independence, clarity, and timely response to developments in AI and its impact on children.
