The Director of IP Operations oversees all aspects of IP operations, drives best practice initiatives, and facilitates learning and development within the IP team.

Provide conflicts-of-interest review and risk management support for new clients, matters, hires, and timekeepers. Monitor and apply ABA and jurisdictional ethical rules, draft screens and waivers, research corporate affiliations, administer engagement terms, and work with attorneys and conflicts staff to resolve issues and ensure compliance.

The role involves managing the DevOps team, optimizing cloud infrastructure, and leading automation using CI/CD and IaC, leveraging tools like Terraform and Azure DevOps.

Lead practice-level marketing strategy for M&A, PE, and Capital Markets: translate plans into campaign briefs, define audience/personalization logic, direct practice-development roadmaps, steward budgets and sponsorship ROI, craft high-stakes pitch narratives, interpret analytics for optimization, collaborate cross-functionally, and manage, mentor, and supervise direct reports and staffing processes.

Lead product support, training, and enablement for Cooley's product portfolio. Oversee L1-L3 support, escalations, documentation, onboarding, and training programs. Partner with product and engineering to drive adoption, measure success, maintain demo environments, and mentor a team to improve processes and product readiness.

Perform in-depth research and analysis of companies, industries, technologies and competitors; produce actionable intelligence and visualizations to support business development, client retention and strategic decision-making; monitor news and litigation; create regular financing deal reports; develop CI services, tools, presentations and best practices; participate in innovation and firm-wide initiatives.
