Teams at Descript

Lead the Narrative Editing product team and own Descript’s script-based editing, recording, writing, AI regeneration, script generation, speaker identification, and translation experiences. Develop customer insights, define the editor roadmap, partner with AI Research, improve intuitive workflows, and ensure the product scales for larger teams and complex use cases. The role requires strong product judgment, customer discovery skills, systems thinking, and experience shipping creative or workflow tools.

Own and evolve the company’s infrastructure platform, including GCP, Kubernetes, Temporal, GPU systems, deployment tooling, CI/CD, developer environments, and reliability practices. Build AI training and inference infrastructure, manage cloud costs, enforce security boundaries, improve observability and incident response, and guide architecture. The role includes on-call responsibilities, technical mentoring, roadmap ownership, and partnering closely with engineering teams to improve how systems are developed and operated.

Own customer-facing product features end to end, from problem definition and design through implementation, launch, measurement, and maintenance. Build reliable full-stack systems across video editing, growth and monetization, media management, or AI products. Partner with Product and Design, run experiments, analyze metrics, improve engineering practices, and provide architectural guidance, reviews, and mentoring.
