Six-month, on-site laboratory internship in Genentech’s Bioassay group. The intern will design, execute, optimize, analyze, and present biochemical, immunochemical, and cell-based assay experiments supporting biologics development from clinical through launch phases. Responsibilities include developing potency methods, contributing to process development and characterization, supporting formulation studies and GMP product release and stability testing, and collaborating with scientists and cross-functional teams.

Leads product strategy and multi-year roadmaps for lab workflows, research data, and AI/ML capabilities supporting drug discovery. Owns requirements for study design, experiment execution, assay data, provenance, harmonization, governance, and interoperability across ELN, LIMS, automation, and data platforms. Partners with scientists, engineering, data/AI, UX, security, and vendors to prioritize capabilities, guide pilots through scaled adoption, establish success metrics, and drive change management and scientific outcomes.

Execute high-throughput protein production and purification workflows for antibody, bispecific, and multispecific therapeutic molecules. Operate AKTA/FPLC systems, perform chromatography and SEC-HPLC quality testing, support additional analytical assays, prepare buffers and columns, maintain instruments, optimize protocols, document results, and collaborate cross-functionally to meet quality and production timelines.
