Conduct molecular biology, experimental genomics, and iPSC cell culture experiments, including PCR, cloning, sequencing library preparation, single-cell and ChIP-seq studies. Manage laboratory operations, maintain safety compliance, collaborate with computational biologists, present research findings, and mentor junior lab members. The role requires a related bachelor’s degree, at least one year of laboratory experience, and expertise in tissue culture and genomics techniques.

Conducts neuroscience research on neurodegeneration, neuroinflammation, glial and neuronal interactions, and protein homeostasis. Maintains and differentiates human patient iPSCs, performs cell-based imaging, molecular biology, microscopy, and cellular assays, and analyzes imaging data using computational tools. Responsibilities include troubleshooting experiments, preparing reports and figures, documenting procedures, communicating findings, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Develop and deploy computer vision, reinforcement learning, and multimodal machine learning systems for biomedical imaging and pathology research. Train and benchmark models, improve computational workflows, and support closed-loop microscopy experiments. Collaborate with biologists, imaging scientists, and engineers, contribute to manuscripts and grant proposals, and communicate technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders. The role focuses on applying AI to neurodegeneration and other disease-related research.

The NOMIS-Gladstone Fellowship offers postdoctoral scientists the chance to conduct interdisciplinary neuroscience research while preparing for independent academic careers under mentorship.

Develop and implement novel AI models for network biology using large-scale biological data. Collaborate with computational and experimental biologists, use GPU/HPC infrastructure and Slurm, publish results, and present at conferences. Support code development and reproducible research practices.

Provide high-level administrative support to two investigators and research staff: manage complex calendars, arrange travel, coordinate seminars/events, maintain lab websites and records, assist with manuscript and grant preparation/submissions, liaise with internal departments and vendors, and perform other administrative duties in a fast-paced biomedical research environment.

This position involves investigating therapeutic gene editing for motor neuron disease using iPSC-derived tissues and genomic engineering methods.
