Teams at Goodfire

Serve as Goodfire’s first in-house lawyer, establishing the company’s legal function and handling contracts, AI/SaaS licensing, data rights, regulatory matters, employment agreements, fundraising, and board matters. Advise on AI security and interpretability issues while negotiating enterprise software and forward-deployed contracts. The role requires independent ownership across all legal matters and is onsite five days weekly in San Francisco.

Own Goodfire’s People strategy and employee lifecycle, including compensation, leveling, equity, benefits, employee relations, compliance, immigration, culture, and scalable People operations. Build systems and processes from scratch, support employees and managers, manage sensitive situations, and help scale a high-performing AI research organization.

Conduct original interpretability research with customers, analyze advanced AI models, prototype techniques to visualize and manipulate model structures, and translate research into production-ready tools. Lead high-stakes project delivery by defining hypotheses, sourcing data, building tools, and iterating with engineering and customer partners. Help shape the company’s research direction while communicating complex technical concepts clearly.
