The role emphasizes robust attachment strategies, manufacturability, material selection, craftsmanship, and reliability across polymers, textiles, and composites.

Develops safety-critical features and architectures for humanoid robots, including collision avoidance, stopping, diagnostics, fail-safe strategies, and motor control. Derives and verifies safety requirements through analysis, experimentation, instrumentation, and fault injection. Leads requirements from inception through implementation and verification, supports system integration, and collaborates across mechanical, electrical, software, and applications teams through mass production and safety certification.

Own integrated execution across AI research, machine learning, data, compute, robotics, hardware, and model delivery. Translate robotics and AI research into accessible content, maintain brand consistency, support launches and employer branding, coordinate agencies and freelancers, and track content performance.

Architect and scale high-throughput infrastructure for billions of multimodal video clips, including storage, indexing, retrieval, observability, workload balancing, versioning, lineage, and dataset exploration tools. Optimize distributed compute and cloud systems for reliability, latency, throughput, and cost. Support VLM integration into data pipelines and collaborate with research and ML systems teams. Staff candidates independently define technical direction and architecture.

Build and maintain software infrastructure for intelligent robots, including onboard networking, communication, telemetry, observability, data collection, cloud uploads, deployment pipelines, debugging tools, and field-testing utilities. Translate customer requirements into workflows and work-cell designs, conduct feasibility analysis, integrate robots with sensors, conveyors, PLCs, MES, and other plant systems, and lead FAT, commissioning, and SAT. Define requirements, author operating procedures, measure system performance, support customer-site deployment, and provide production feedback to product and engineering teams.

Own end-to-end delivery of customer robotics programs from scoping through proof-of-concept completion. Responsibilities include timeline and resource planning, customer communications, cross-functional coordination, site readiness, logistics, risk mitigation, field feedback, and process improvement across concurrent US and European programs. The role requires technical fluency in robotics and automation, strong project management, executive communication, and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Own product requirements and development for robot data collection systems. Lead hands-on prototyping, benchmark cameras and other components, and drive hardware/software integration across sensing, calibration, and synchronization. Track technical issues, validation, schedules, and delivery while collaborating with Research, Data, engineering, manufacturing partners, and global factories. The role requires strong hardware and software adaptability, bilingual Mandarin-English communication, and occasional travel.

Develop software infrastructure for intelligent robots, including networking, communication, data collection, telemetry, observability, deployment tooling, debugging, and teleoperation support. Contribute to robot bring-up and field testing, troubleshoot issues across software layers, and collaborate with perception, control, and machine learning engineers to maintain reliable onboard systems and high-quality training data.

Design user experiences and interfaces for operating, monitoring, and interacting with deployed robots. Create fleet dashboards, user journeys, wireframes, interaction designs, high-fidelity visuals, and developer handoffs. Design compact motor-gearbox actuators for robot hands from concept through production. Architect miniaturized geartrains (especially planetary), size/select motors, run bench and dyno tests, and collaborate on packaging, thermal, drive, and sensing integration.

Manage procurement for New Product Introduction: source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate terms, expedite POs, handle ECNs, monitor inventory and on-time delivery, reduce cost/lead time/risk, and collaborate with engineering to protect build schedules.

Lead AI system safety assurance for humanoid robots: perform STPA/FMEA hazard analyses, assess model-update risks, define AI safety requirements (inputs, confidence, OOD), develop V&V test cases, deploy validation cells, maintain traceability, and produce evidence packages for certification.

Design and deliver mechanical actuator components (motors, gear trains, housings) from concept through production. Create high-fidelity CAD and engineering drawings with GD&T, perform tolerance stack-ups, collaborate with modeling and test teams to define test plans, coordinate suppliers and RFQs, support characterization and iterative design, and ensure manufacturability, cost, and reliability for high-cycle electromechanical systems.
