The Sr. Backend Engineer will design and maintain backend systems using Django, optimize PostgreSQL databases, implement secure workflows, and mentor other engineers while collaborating across teams.

Lead development and validation of multi-state tax documentation and datasets for AI systems. Prepare and review SALT returns, apportionment schedules, nexus analyses, and state-specific workpapers. Conduct multi-jurisdictional research, monitor law updates, and convert tax concepts into machine-readable formats. Collaborate with data and engineering teams and provide expert feedback to improve AI-generated tax outputs and ensure data integrity.

Provide subject-matter expertise in complex tax planning and strategy, develop and validate tax content for AI, create case studies and scenarios, document methodologies, monitor law changes, and advise product and engineering teams.
