Develop production-grade positioning, navigation, and timing software for autonomous marine vehicles. Build tightly coupled state-estimation systems using IMU, DVL, GNSS, acoustic, pressure, vision, radar, and AIS data. Own sensor calibration, embedded Linux deployment, real-time perception, optimization libraries, logging, deterministic replay, and field validation. Collaborate with electrical, robotics, and mechanical engineers across subsea and surface vehicle platforms.

Test electromechanical autonomous surface and underwater vehicles from component benches through sea trials. Develop test plans, acceptance criteria, fixtures, instrumentation, data collection tools, and regression tests. Analyze logs and noisy field data, investigate mechanical, electrical, and software failures, verify fixes, and document configurations for reproducibility. Coordinate water tests and deployment readiness with engineering and technical operations teams. The role requires onsite work in San Francisco and domestic and international travel.

Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering projects for autonomous underwater and surface vehicles from scope through integration, testing, sea trials, and production release. Build development plans, manage dependencies, critical paths, configuration, risks, scope changes, acceptance criteria, and test readiness. Work closely with mechanical, electrical, software, manufacturing, and operations teams in an on-site hardware development environment.
