Own end-to-end sourcing strategy for NAND, SSD, storage, and compute commodities. Lead supplier negotiations, strategic relationships, diversification, risk mitigation, cost modeling, benchmarking, and performance management. Partner with engineering, finance, and operations to influence technical roadmaps and sourcing decisions. Analyze market trends, manage shortages and escalations, report savings and risks to leadership, and travel 15–20% for supplier reviews and industry events.

The Sales Director will develop and execute strategic sales plans for VAST Data’s data platform, expand the customer base, prospect for new business, manage executive relationships, demonstrate complex technical solutions, negotiate and close contracts, and provide forecasts and pipeline updates. The role collaborates with marketing, product management, and customer success, represents the company at industry events, tracks market trends, and serves as a brand ambassador.

Own the technical success of strategic customer deployments from design through production. Collaborate with customer and internal engineering teams to optimize distributed infrastructure, debug complex storage and networking issues, develop automation and API solutions, and translate operational challenges into product requirements. The role requires advanced expertise in distributed systems, storage, networking, Linux internals, and Python/C/C++ development, with up to 25% travel or customer-site work.
