Threat and Protective Intelligence Specialist
About the role
Chime is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Threat & Protective Intelligence Specialist. You will play a key role in providing operational and substantive support to the Risk Organization by leading the collection of intelligence from covert communication channels, social media platforms and deep + dark web (DDW) sources. You will have the opportunity to shape new policies and procedures, and work alongside Fraud Operations, Risk, Security and other team members. This role can be located in either our Chicago or San Francisco location.Â
This job cannot be performed in the state of Colorado.Â
In this role, you can expect to
- Glean and decipher intelligence from OSINT, covert communication channels, social media platforms and deep + dark web (DDW) forums
- Review intelligence gathered from the above sources to identify threats and risks to Chime’s members, products and peopleÂ
- Summarize findings in written reports and provide updates and briefings to senior managementÂ
- Understand the potential threat vectors and fraud/financial crime risks to Chime, it’s employees and how to minimize sameÂ
- Partner with cross-functional teams across Risk, Compliance, Security Product, and Engineering to disseminate/action intelligence, and quickly respond to rapidly evolving threatsÂ
- Evaluate, triage and research threats made against Chimers using OSINT and other data sourcesÂ
- Assist in the development of automated investigations tools, tracking mechanisms, processes and protocols that will be used by Chime to assess trends and identify accounts involved in fraudulent activity
- Work closely with Chime’s Law Enforcement and Government Response team to make applicable law enforcement referrals involving illicit activity and safety/security threats
To thrive in this role, you have
- 4+ years of experience in intelligence collection and analysis and managing vendors on a project basis
- Experience in an operational Trust & Safety position or similar function
- A deep understanding of threat vectors and fraud schemes discussed and advertised on social media, covert communication channels and the deep + dark webÂ
- A proven track record of forging cross-functional relationships to share and disseminate actionable intelligence to relevant stakeholders
- The ability to produce reporting and metrics as it relates to threat intelligence trends and your workloadÂ
- Proficiency with SQL and Looker (preferred)Â Â
- A B.A./B.S degree
