Engineering Manager (FT; Multiple Openings)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for planning, managing and monitoring engineering team functions to support engineering projects, processes and timelines
JOB DUTIES:
- Acting as the engineering leader and technical expert with respect to engineering projects to design and develop software products and features
- Collaborating with other departments, including Product Management, Product Marketing, Sales, Support, partners and clients, to craft a vision for engineering functions and projects, and devising a roadmap for evolving the current platform to meet future goals
- Developing and executing project roadmaps and breaking down complex project requirements into independent tasks and strategies to assign to Engineers
- Assigning tasks with deadlines and requirements based on overall project goals and strategies
- Collaborating with, managing and providing technical leadership to local and remote engineering teams through the full development to production to post-production life cycle
- Supporting Engineering teams in achieving high-level results, productivity and quality by providing technical guidance and reviewing work of subordinates
- Developing and managing processes for the Engineering teams; Working closely with executive staff to define strategies for the Engineering team and project execution
- Analyzing workflow, human resource needs and project requirements to determine departmental goals and plan projects
- Managing and tracking progress of multiple ongoing projects, including monitoring the work plans, obtaining status reports and managing budgets
- Preparing presentations to upper management and executive teams to define ongoing projects and provide progress updates.
REQUIRED SKILLS/TOOLS:
Experience with Agile methodologies, requirements analysis, Java, SaaS, PaaS, NoSQL, SQL, database management systems, project management and personnel management is required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
U.S. Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field plus two (2) years of related experience, or U.S. Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field plus five (5) years of related experience is required. Within the foregoing parameters, any suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.
