About the Role
Chime is investing heavily in tooling to ensure we can move quickly while managing the complexity and risk we carry as a financial institution. As part of this effort we are looking for the right individual to build a test engineering team at Chime. As an engineering manager you will recruit a team of software engineers to build the tools and infrastructure to improve engineering productivity and to provide guidance to product teams to ensure systems can be efficiently tested and supported.
The right candidate is passionate about developer experiences and has a track record of delivering tooling that is highly valued by his or her engineering counterparts. This person should excel at providing guidance on how to improve the testability and supportability of systems while ensuring the team focuses its efforts on tooling that will deliver the most value.
Responsibilities
- Form, prioritize, and socialize the test engineering roadmap with the eventual goal of supporting a continuous deployment model for Chime Engineering.
- Build a team of high performance software engineers that can work independently to identify requirements, design, and implement tooling that is seamlessly integrated into Chime’s developer workflow.
- Ensure developer tools and practices meet the needs of multiple teams across multiple geographic locations.
- Developer a deep technical understanding of our product, tools, and processes and leverage this information to influence your team’s and engineering’s future direction.
Requirements
- 10+ years experience in software development.
- 5+ years experience developing, shipping and supporting developer facing tools and APIs.
- Experience designing and building web based scalable services
- Experience with containerized CI/CD pipelines, and creating reproducible builds from development to production
- Track record successfully building teams, leading and growing talent.
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Software engineering, related field or equivalent experience
