Senior Software Engineer (Processing and Serving)
The Data engineering team has been created keeping in mind the importance and criticality of data for the overall success of Chime. The mission of the group is to build a scalable data platform that caters to the future of the data at Chime. As one of the initial members of data infrastructure, you will have the rare opportunity to build scalable data systems from scratch. Additionally, you will have the unique opportunity to architect and build workflows that could potentially become de facto standards for the fintech industry.
This job cannot be performed in the state of Colorado.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Be a hands-on data engineer, building, scaling and optimizing real time pipelines
- Design and develop self served data infrastructure which will serve as the core foundation of democratization data @chime Mission.
- Design and develop stream processing infrastructure
- Design and develop real time pipelines with sub seconds latency
- Work closely with partner teams, like Data Science, Risk and fraud teams
To thrive in this role, you have:
- 5+ years of expertise with batch and real time processing infrastructure
- 3+ years of hands-on experience MPP systems like Spark, Flink.
- 2+ years hands-on experience on developing with schema format e.g protobuf, Avro, ORC etc
- 2+ years hands-on experience on developing and scaling stream processing pipelines
- 3+ years of experience writing and deploying Python, Java or Scala code
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing solutions for Data lake
- Track record of successful partnerships with ML, product, engineering and DevOps teams
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically which scale to meet future needs
- Experience with AWS ecosystem is plus
- Hands-on experience on SQL basics
