Software Architect
As a member of the RingCentral Engage Engineering team, you’ll tackle complex, mission-critical problems and build the platform that’s changing the way the world communicates. The RingCentral Engage is cloud-based solution that serves businesses, large and small, require highly reliable uptime, scalability and flexibility to support any business need or workflow.
We are looking for a Software Architect responsible for designing, architecting and implementing secure, distributed, scalable and fault tolerant services, APIs, data pipelines and user interfaces. In this role, you will have an opportunity to use your extensive expertise in security, network protocols, public cloud products, traditional and IP telephony, digital communication channels and tools to come up with the best design.
Responsibilities:
Collect and analyze requirements from business and technical partners, provide feedback and discuss possible technical solutions
Provide end to end design and architecture for Engage services
Provide technical specifications for APIs and devise load and integration testing strategies
Work in close communication with Engage SRE team on performance and quality of the Engage services
Plan and coordinate with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams to assure timely implementation
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or equivalent, is required
3+ years as tech lead building highly available systems
10+ years of experience in building backend services and APIs (Java, SQL, NoSQL)
Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker
Experience with MySQL/Aurora, MongoDB, DynamoDB, CouchBaseDB, Athena is a huge plus
Experience with message bus and streaming technologies (Kafka, ActiveMQ)
Experience with IP telephony stack: SIP, WebRTC, etc
Experience building real-time and historical analytics is a plus
Proven experience deploying applications and API services of Enterprise grade that scale to thousands of users
Experienced with agile-type rapid development and deployment
Can-do attitude
Good communication skills; ability to transform thoughts into written or visual form; ability to present
