Responsibilities:
Diagnose, Troubleshoot, resolve Quality issues related to VoIP, Video and telephony platforms and applications
Deploy and Maintain complex voice infrastructure components, automated approaches for identifying and fixing voice quality issues.
Participate with Engineering teams on design and architecture of voice/video services optimizing quality
Debug Voice quality trends and issue using big data dashboards and other diagnostic tools
Review network design and configuration and make recommendations to improve functionality, quality and throughput
Participate in on-call rotations to include nights, weekends, holidays
Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays
Qualifications / Requirements:
B.S in computer science or equivalent.
4 years experience in VOIP network technologies
SBC Certifications a plus
4 years experience in Linux Administration
Linux Certifications a plus
Experience and Skills:
Excellent understanding of all aspects of SBCs
Deep understanding of VoIP/Video over IP technology
Good understanding of NAT traversal solutions
Strong scripting/programming background is a plus
IPV4/IPV6
DHCP, DNS,
TCP/IP
BGP
Lawful Intercept
IMS
Experience with monitoring tools such as Empirix
Protocols – SIP, RTP, RTCP, SRTP, H323,
Codecs – G.711, G.722, G729, OPUS
Strong Linux/Unix administration background
Fast learner with ability to self-teach and dig through documentation
Deep understanding of OSI layer and how network conditions affect voice quality
Understanding of IP QoS protocols
Good knowledge of VoIP quality measurement models - E–model, PESQM, POLQA
Good understanding of Key voice quality metrics (Delay, Jitter, packet loss)
Strong analytical skills
Familiarity with various test tools to test media and voice, video quality
Passion for debugging difficult Voice quality issues
Highly analytical and detail oriented
Data analytics with open source tools (Kibana/Grafana)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Project Management skills
