Engineering Manager, Credit
About the role
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to help drive and innovate on the next new revolutionary product from Chime - our Credit Builder credit card!
You will manage and guide one of the Credit Builder technology teams responsible for powering key Credit Builder initiatives and all supporting technology components: mobile applications, platforms, service architecture, and third-party integrations. This team is responsible for new feature development AND the scalability of Chime’s infrastructure as we accelerate our growth. You will partner closely with product, analytics, risk, and third party partners and others to deliver on the core value proposition of Credit Builder: actually building credit.
This job cannot be performed in the state of Colorado.
In this role, you can expect to
- Work closely with our engineering leaders to ensure engineering efficiency and guide the team through a path forward to improve and scale delivery. Ensure that technical decisions support our quality, performance, scalability, reliability, availability, and security goals.
- Design, develop, test, and scale new and existing consumer product features.
- Build, lead and hire a high-calibre team of software engineers to solve these problems while being hands on.
- Encourage innovation and foster an environment of continuous improvement.
- Establish a sense of urgency and direction, set expectations with team and individuals. Establish team objectives in alignment with business goals.
- Work very closely with the Product Managers to launch solutions for the users.
- Contribute to overall engineering initiatives as a member of Chime’s engineering leadership team.
To thrive in this role, you have
- Experience with similar tech: Ruby, React Native, Distributed Systems, AWS services (data, compute) and Service Oriented Architectures.
- Worked as a software engineer and have a deep empathy towards engineering happiness.
- Experience supporting coaching, caring, and feeding others.
- 2+ years in a people management responsibilities.
- Interest in pushing technology, people, and organization to explore new ways we can deliver amazement to our customers.
- A fascination in how to make teams and people thrive.
- Enjoyment in learning and diving into the deepest levels of how things work.
- The ability to motivate a team through delivery on aggressive schedules and goals.
