The Head of Global Tax will join a fast-paced finance team and will lead and play an integral role overseeing all global tax planning and compliance matters across the business worldwide. This position requires a strategic thinker with keen business instincts that can understand and apply tax concepts to RingCentral’s expanding global business. The Head of Global Tax will also require building effective and collaborative partnerships with cross-functional business units. Essentially you would be stepping into a high-level and highly visible role working with leadership across accounting, finance, legal, regulatory, operations, product management, etc. and leading the charge as RingCentral continues its journey on to a multi-billion-dollar company!
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a global tax strategy and structure on new business and go-to-market motions and present recommendations to executive management and senior leadership team
Oversee the day-to-day global tax accounting, planning, compliance, and policy functions
Ensure proper and timely completion of domestic and international direct and indirect tax returns, including all related analysis and support
Monitor indirect tax applicability, collection and reporting requirements and processes
Management of domestic and foreign country tax filings and audits
Own tax planning projects and tax-specific workstreams for integration initiatives, product launches, international business expansion and supply chain operations
Work with tax and regulatory team to develop and implement comprehensive domestic and international tax solutions to support business objectives and international operations, including seller-of-record structuring for devices and subscriptions offerings
Monitor transfer pricing arrangements between the RingCentral entities
Assess and implement appropriate internal controls related to tax accounting processes and procedures
Qualifications:
BA, BBA, or BS degree
CPA
MS Taxation, JD, MBA
10+ years relevant tax experience
5+ years tax experience in a multinational professional organization
Preferred Qualifications:
Deep knowledge of domestic and international corporate tax concepts and applicability
Experience leading large-scale tax projects and owning tax workstream of global business transactions
Solutions-oriented and collaborative approach
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to articulate complex tax concepts in a business setting, including non-tax professionals
Able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment experiencing rapid global growth
Solid operational background with ability to drive process improvements
Team player with good leadership skills who is confident in communicating with others and is able to work with minimal supervision.
