Senior Director of Tax
About the role
We are looking for a hands-on Tax Director who will stand-up and own the tax department partnering closely with the Accounting, Legal and People teams to ensure that processes and roles are aligned to support the company’s rapid growth. This person will also serve as a point of contact for all internal and external tax inquiries.
This job cannot be performed in the state of Colorado.
In this role, you can expect to
- Manage day-to-day operations relating to U.S. and International tax return preparation and filing. Manage accurate and timely compliance of tax returns, estimates and extensions
- Ensure adequate tax return support and documentation and preparedness for future tax audits. Explain return to provision differences
- Advise and drive transformation of our tax function to scale for growth, which includes people development, process and workpapers simplification and standardization, and effective use of data and technology. Involve in the quarterly and annual income tax provision process
- Monitor non-standard transactions. Liaise with internal teams and external advisors to resolve tax compliance issues
- Maintain an accurate compliance tax calendar to assure timely filing of Federal, State and International tax returns and required tax payments
- Perform technical review and research of complex tax return issues
- Build collaborative relationships across the company
To thrive in this role, you have
- 12+ years of combined large scale public accounting and industry experience
- Demonstrated extensive federal and state corporate tax knowledge. Able to identify issues, analyze and interpret relevant tax laws when handling complex subject matters.
- Solid general accounting knowledge and familiar with accounting principles such as ASC740 and ASC 718
- Excellent management and leadership skills, with the ability to leverage, coach and motivate talent to inspire action and achieve results
- Detailed oriented and strong analytical skills
- Strong project management, written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance; MST/CPA preferred
