The opportunity

Grammarly empowers people to thrive and connect, whenever and wherever they communicate. More than 30 million people and 30,000 teams around the world use our AI-powered writing assistant every day. All of this begins with our team collaborating in a values-driven and learning-oriented environment.

To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re seeking a Demand Generation Lead to drive the overall demand generation strategy for Grammarly Business. This person will define their function’s vision, develop a strategy, drive execution, and create operational guidelines to ensure that Grammarly Business achieves its revenue plans.

This person will be responsible for pipeline and conversion KPIs for all sales channels. They will be responsible for architecting journeys that take buyers in mid-market and enterprise companies from awareness to interest to paying customers. They will also be a key thought partner and report to the Head of Demand Gen and Lifecycle Marketing.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in B2B Marketing (including all outbound and inbound demand generation levers) and has a deep understanding of how content marketing, paid media management, and sales motions interplay to drive revenue in a sales environment. They’d also have experience partnering with Inside Sales teams with the goal to produce high-value leads via marketing campaigns.

Your impact

In this role, you will:

  • Define and own the demand generation strategy, tactics, and performance reporting across the full business buyer journey (from awareness campaigns to generating pipeline opportunities to nurture / ABM strategies in existing accounts).
  • Scale Grammarly Business’s marketing stack to improve reporting, targeting, automation, and insights capabilities.
  • Drive the marketing mix across digital (owned or paid) and other offline channels to meet the sales pipeline needs for Grammarly Business.
  • Define customer personas and audience segments and identify opportunities to engage at key moments during a customer’s journey with Grammarly.
  • Partner closely with:
    • The Sales team and the broader Marketing team to manage the lead funnel and sales handoff, build lead scoring capabilities, and report outcomes.
    • The Analytics team to refresh customer propensity and behavioral models to enable personalized and real-time marketing at scale.
    • The Product, Data Science, Engineering, and Revenue Operations teams to test and deploy improvements to the customer journey.
  • Grow a high-performing team by developing, recruiting, training, and mentoring talent.
  • Manage external vendor partnerships focused on demand generation, content creation, and data enrichment to grow the efficacy and impact of the function over time.

We’re looking for someone who

  • Embodies our EAGER values—is ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.
  • Has 10+ years of professional experience, including significant stints with a proven track record in driving B2B demand from buyers in Fortune 5000 companies, at an industry-standard performance benchmark.
  • Has a strong handle on marketing experiments: Specifically, can devise a sound experiment in order to obtain learning with incomplete data.
  • Demonstrates an intimate understanding of best practices in generating sustained interest and demand from senior buyers, via multichannel and holistic marketing strategies.
  • Has experience presenting to large groups and C-level executives.
  • Is hyper-focused on results and uses this “lens” every day to assess performance, provide guidance to their team, and make decisions.
  • Presents a proven record of mentoring and leading diverse and distributed teams.
  • Shows a track record of influencing behavior at a variety of levels in an organization, including cross-functional leadership.

Bonus points for

  • Experience in leading matrixed organizations and functions toward common goals with operational rigor and enthusiasm.
  • Knowledge of illustrating high accountability in a dynamic, rapidly changing workplace.
  • Passion for or familiarity with web consumer (or consumerized B2B) communications products or services.

How does the company support your career growth?

I was initially attracted to (and surprised by) the growth and scale of the business, and the feeling only grows as we expand into B2B. With its adaptable, positive, and passionate team, Grammarly is a unique place to be."

What is your vision for the company?

Writing helps us all achieve personal, professional, and academic success, but effective communication requires talent and time. It can be very challenging, and we may not always be able to effectively express our meaning, convey our intent, and be fully understood—creating a gap with our audience. We’re building Grammarly to close this gap.

Brad

CEO

What projects are you most excited about?

I always feel pumped when I see the positive feedback we get from our users. To know that your work is helping people discover a product that meaningfully improves their lives—it never gets old.
