Marketing Operations Manager
Grammarly is continuing to grow our team during the COVID-19 pandemic, conducting fully remote hiring and onboarding processes. All Grammarly team members can work remotely until September 2021. Read more about how we’re supporting our team and communities.
The opportunity
Grammarly empowers people to thrive and connect, whenever and wherever they communicate. More than 30 million people and 30,000 teams around the world use our AI-powered writing assistant every day. All of this begins with our team collaborating in a values-driven and learning-oriented environment.
To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Marketing Operations Manager to join our Revenue Operations team. The Marketing Operations Manager will own, optimize, and manage the marketing technology stack and related processes supporting Grammarly’s strategy for B2B demand generation and B2C lifecycle marketing.
Your impact
B2B revenue is expected to be Grammarly’s fastest-growing revenue stream and be a major contributor to achieving our revenue goals. Additionally, Grammarly Business, through organizational adoption, will play a significant role in our vision to help English writers around the world communicate more effectively. As Grammarly’s Marketing Operations Manager, you will have a very active and important role in creating new processes, improving data quality, and driving the marketing technology strategy from a very early stage. You will need to be someone who will be very collaborative across Marketing and Sales organizations and will need to be a very versatile and gritty team member. This role will be blazing the technology trail for a new product, line of business, strategy, and team.
- Within the first thirty days, you will get acquainted with the Grammarly Business model, B2B marketing, and sales technology stack inside and out. You will assume execution ownership of B2B Marketing Operations platforms, systems, and processes.
- Within the first three months, you will evolve the B2B marketing operations strategy and develop a rolling four-quarter roadmap, sell it internally, and continue executing. You will partner with B2B Marketing Analytics and Revenue Operations teams to develop and refine an effective measurement framework along with reports and dashboards that connect the dots between marketing programs and B2B revenue. You will take over the management of external vendors and contractors while also establishing a mentorship relationship with more junior members of the Marketing Operations team.
- Within the first six months, you will merge B2B and B2C marketing operations roadmap, goals, and execution, taking ownership of the full stack. You’ll be responsible for ensuring Grammarly’s core B2B marketing operations tech stack and processes meet the internal definition for "ready to scale."
- Within the first year, you will extend the roadmap to a six-quarter time horizon and fully integrate with core Product and Engineering organizations’ planning cadence. You will evaluate the need for additional headcount and help build the team to support those needs.
We’re looking for someone who
- Embodies our EAGER values—is ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.
- Works cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Revenue Operations, Product, Engineering, and IT teams to unlock new opportunities for efficiency and productivity at scale.
- Possesses advanced data fluency, particularly with systems and processes, and an understanding of sales and marketing measurement best practices.
- Drives the business forward with impeccable project management skills and keen attention to detail and accuracy (including follow-through).
- Has a broad understanding and experience with digital marketing technologies, with a special emphasis on how those systems connect and share data to improve customer experiences and drive business performance.
- Has 3-5 years of experience managing Pardot along with Pardot certification and experience integrating Pardot with multiple systems. Ideally, they have experience implementing, refreshing, or overhauling a Pardot instance. Bonus points if they also have experience as a Salesforce Admin.
- Possesses strong working knowledge of B2B marketing fundamentals across all key disciplines, with an understanding of how Brand, Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Lifecycle Marketing, Content Marketing, and Performance Marketing teams can all work together toward common goals. Experience supporting B2B marketing teams through technology, process, and data infrastructure management.
- Has experience owning large-scale marketing operations (preferably after building them to scale) as measured by a quantifiable metric, such as the total size of the marketable database or total pipeline driven.
- Is fluent in segmentation strategies for dividing the customer base into groups of individuals that are similar in specific ways relevant to marketing; can customize marketing in order to produce better results.
