The Recurly marketing team is seeking an experienced public relations and marketing leader to own the successful execution of our media strategy and connect. We’re looking for a strategic thinker, a natural storyteller and exceptional communicator to continue crafting and promoting our story and educate the market on the value of Recurly. They should be a self-starter, team-oriented professional who’s experienced at working closely with numerous internal stakeholders to develop media-centric marketing campaigns that create deep connections between our prospects, clients, partners, investors, and analysts and our mission, values and brand.

Responsibilities:

• Lead media relations by leveraging traditional and non-traditional approaches to drive breakthrough PR across business and trade media that delivers on business objectives and brings our story to life while helping define the future of subscription management.
• Develop and drive a multi-channel communications strategy and thought leadership program underpinned by content, speaking engagements, data, research, social media, and events.
• Establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with the media, building and maintaining journalist relationships, identifying story ideas, pitching stories, and securing coverage.
• Conceptualize and write long-form content such as press releases, contributed articles, and op-eds.
• Develop subject matter expertise in Recurly technology platform, as well as the issues that impact our business, our customers and the competitive landscape.
• Work collaboratively with marketing, product marketing, product, R&D, sales, customer success and executive leadership to build a clear and consistent messaging stack, bringing a differentiated point-of-view throughout PR efforts and cementing it in the market.
• Proactively build communications campaigns to advance the company’s mission, strategy, results and culture, and amplify marketing campaigns with unique programs that cut through the noise and align with commercial goals.
• Develop weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual media activity reports.
• Analyze media coverage and present strategy and results to Recurly executives.

Requirements:

• BA/BS in journalism, communications, marketing or business preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of B2B technology communications experience across public and analyst relations, social media, executive communications, events and thought leadership programs to advance an organization’s mission and commercial goals.
• Creative thinker, with a strong sense of ownership and track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and successful execution.
• Experience with managing and leading agency teams.
• Strong communicator with executive presence and ability to effect change at both a people and process level.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills, and equally exceptional planning, organizational and project management skills.

• Huge bonus if you have both agency and in-house experience.
• Added plus if you have experience with managing a successful analyst relations program.
