IT Systems Engineer
About the role
Chime relies heavily on SaaS applications to run our internal business. We are looking for a highly motivated Systems Engineer to join our growing IT organization. The Systems Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize our IT systems' ROI. You will be responsible for making sure our SaaS applications are in good hygiene as they relate to data, security, and access. You will also work closely with business partners throughout the entire SDLC to implement the optimal solutions for the company as we scale. As a critical member of the IT organization, you will have the opportunity to help shape the future of Chime and, of course, our Member-obsessed experience.
An ideal candidate would be an expert in Google Workspace for Enterprise, IAM tools such as Okta and OneLogin, AWS, containers, scripting, infrastructure management tools, and networking. You take pride in building custom solutions when tooling doesn't exist to support our fast-paced business needs. You should love automating things; we want people who want to work smarter, not harder! If you love building, breaking, and fixing things, are passionate about technology, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, we'd love to hear from you!
In this role, you can expect to
- Own and maintain our core enterprise technology stack such as Google Workspace, communications & collaboration tools, network infrastructure, MDM, endpoint protection, IAM, and other SaaSOps tools.
- Subject-matter expertise across all IAM topics as it relates to both cloud and on-premises enterprise technology and the relationship between the architectures.
- Spearhead various IT systems projects, including virtualization, monitoring, internal tooling, and automation.
- Develop automation around the provisioning/de-provisioning of user accounts.
- Build strong partnerships with cross-functional departments/teams (e.g., HR, Finance, Legal, Infra, Security, and Engineering).
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including system administration and network configurations.
- Participate in supporting and managing Android, ChromeOS, iOS, macOS, Windows, and Linux operating systems and software. Fill in the gaps to document current systems and processes.
To thrive in this role, you have
- 8+ years of proven experience as an IT professional, working in various roles: Technical Support Engineer, Systems Administrator, Systems Engineer, or similar functions.
- 4+ years Experience administering, scaling, and troubleshooting cloud-based identity providers (IdP), preferably Okta and Google Workspace.
- Expert experience with administering, deploying, and troubleshooting TCP/IP, VLANS, IPSEC, DNS, DHCP, SSL, VPN, macOS, Windows 10, Linux, all things Google including Google Workspace, Cloud Identity, Chrome Enterprise, GAM, Apps Script, Vault.
- Experience with scripting, AWS, container orchestration, infrastructure management tools such as Terraform, etc.
- Experience operationalizing and automating IT administration including onboarding/offboarding.
- Strong fundamentals in information security especially around identity, auth, and data management.
- The ability to successfully manage vendors, escalate technical issues to resolution, and influence their product roadmaps. Strong problem-solving skills. The ability to adapt and overcome is a must.
- Bonus Points: Certifications - CompTIA A+, Network +, CCNA, MCSE, or similar certifications and exposure to security audits such as ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC2, SOX, etc.
