Zumper is looking for an experienced Director of SEO to own SEO initiatives and performance. In this role, you will have a huge impact on Zumper’s bottom line by growing the audience of Zumper and Padmapper to be the go-to sites for apartment rentals!

The ideal candidate is seeking a leadership opportunity with executive exposure, strong product and engineering support, and the ability to make an immediate impact!

Responsibilities

• Define the SEO product roadmap, from research, definition, prioritization to scoping out initiatives. Partner with Growth, Product, and Engineering teams to bring these proposals live.
• Run analysis, review, and make recommendations on Zumper websites to better optimized for search engine rankings and traffic.
• Lead Weekly and Monthly SEO business reporting
• Work across all Zumper teams to define SEO best practices and provide central services and tools to super-charge their SEO growth
• Drive continuous refinement and improvement of SEO reporting processes to provide actionable reporting
• Work with Growth, Product, and Engineering to develop medium and long term strategies for SEO growth
• Work with our internal Content team to build out scalable content within the core product as well as the blog
• Partner with the PR team to improve outreach and link building processes
• Define and lead overall outreach initiatives to drive quality links back to Zumper

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering field or related experience
• Strong background in SEO at large consumer-facing website
• At least 7 years of SEO/growth experience, historical success in growing traffic and revenue at a scale of millions of visitors a month
• Ability to go deep on all aspects of a complete SEO strategy: technology, content, analytics, outreach, and user experience
• Proficiency in quantitative analysis and communicating the results of that analysis
• Highly analytical, SQL preferred
• Ability to leverage a/b testing to learn and prioritize growth initiatives
• Demonstrated ability to think creatively and solve open-ended projects with in-house resources, outsourced agencies, or small scrappy teams that come together in an agile environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience reporting business to senior management
• Able to communicate vision into specific product requirements and contribute to the overall strategy to drive long-term growth
• A problem solver and decision-maker, with the ability to prioritize and develop relevant and engaging content strategy
