In this role, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring all drivers are set up for success prior to being dispatched to their delivery route here at our location in the Bayview District of San Francisco, CA. As part of the Good Eggs Dispatch Team you play a key role in our customers’ overall experience bringing farm fresh organic groceries and alcohol to their door via same day delivery 100% on time.

What You Will Do:

• Ensure coverage of all routes for the day.
• Willingness to work outdoors regardless of weather conditions.
• Securing coverage for sick calls from third-party contract drivers or delivery team members.
• Notifying drivers when their route has been changed.
• Assigning route to Drivers as needed.
• Ability to drive and use personal vehicle to take on delivery routes as needed
• Ability to help and support other departments when needed.
• Facilitate day-of re-routes when needed.
• Understanding of all Good Eggs delivery, routing, and scheduling tools: Drive app, Zendesk, Wonolo.
• Understanding of how delivery tools interact with other team processes and tools (e.g. Customers app, Pack process & collateral).
• Maintains quality of service by following operational standards.
• Ensures work areas are clean & organized.
• Uses radio, phone or computer to send vehicles to appropriate locations.
• Ability to prioritize routes and drivers as needed.
• Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Train all third party contractors about Good Eggs Policies and Procedures.

Who are we looking for?

• High School diploma or equivalent. College degree a big plus
• 1 or more years of dispatch experience. Experience working in a warehouse environment is a plus
• Good communication skills
• Time management and organizational skills
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Proficient in English (oral and written)
• Knowledge of procedures and guidelines for emergency situations
• Sound judgment and critical thinking
• Active listener with excellent communication skills
• Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities

Competencies

• Tech-savvy with knowledge of Google Suites.
• General understanding of how to use standard computer operating systems such as Windows, Mac OS, Chrome / Lynx.
• General understanding of how to use tablets/smartphones.
• General understanding of how to use printers, bar-code scanners.
• Ability to use warehousing software after training.
• Ability to use standard warehousing tools such as box cutters, hand trucks, and pallet jacks.
• Understanding of units of measure such as ounces and pounds, pints, quarts, gallons, etc.
• Understanding of how to use digital scales & thermometers.
