About the role
We’re looking for a seasoned product manager to bridge the gap between engineering, risk, data science, and product teams in order to better leverage billions of data points to further Chime’s development of our machine learning (ML) platform. You’ll partner closely with many cross-functional teams to tackle Chime’s most challenging ML problems, including fraud detection and mitigation, credit risk assessment, and automating delightful member experiences, just to name a few.
The right candidate knows what steps and people are required to drive the development of a machine learning platform, how to coax work streams to completion when many teams are involved and how to keep on track of large programs, ranging from data hygiene and flows to machine learning based decisioning systems across Chime.
This job cannot be performed in the state of Colorado.
In this role, you can expect to
- Own and drive delivery of multiple large cross-functional ML platform initiatives that impact all of Chime’s member and product touch points
- Translate business and ML product requirements into comprehensive product/process development stories
- Build relationships by collaborating with Engineering, Product counterparts, and other major internal stakeholders, enabling ML platform and DS teams to absorb domain knowledge from relevant teams
- Ensure timely execution of all project assets to meet launch dates, and help support testing, and post-launch analysis
- Communicate strategic milestones and due dates to all stakeholders, ensuring information is available and complete, including to executive stakeholders
- Build data visualizations to broadly communicate progress on program and key business metrics
- Evangelize the use of data and machine learning to all parts of the organization and act as a resource to answer stakeholder questions about ML
To thrive in this role, you have
- 2-3 years experience delivering solutions on ML platform infrastructure and/or owning ML productsÂ
- 5+ years as a product manager
- Knowledge of the flow of a data science project, including conceptualization, validation, architecting a cross functional team, and executing on deliverables, among other areas
- SQL knowledge and a willingness/desire to enhance this skillÂ
- Ability to track large enterprise-wide programs consisting of many projects; proficiency with process management and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Understanding of how machine learning solutions can be applied to business/product use cases and the feasibility of such ML solutions to meet business goals.
- Ability to communicate to stakeholders and executives and report on ML projects
