The Company

 

At Span, we are building products to drive the rapid adoption of renewable energy and enable a more modern, flexible grid. Span’s smart panel replaces the standard electrical panel to become the center for connected power in the home, providing intelligent load-balancing and revolutionary edge-of-grid controls through the Span mobile app.

The Role 

We are seeking an experienced project coordinator to manage our direct to consumer deployment of Span products.  The role will be a combination of customer service, project management, problem solving and sales. In this role, you will work directly with both homeowners and electricians to coordinate the customer's journey from sale to final inspection. You will cross-functionally collaborate with our sales, application engineering, electrician training, and finance teams to ensure each customer has an amazing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely installations with delighted customers

    • Be the customer point of contact from sale through installation of their Span Smart Panel

    • Take ownership of the subcontractor scheduling including job flow, timeline to install, and customer experience

    • Use and promote straightforward, honest, and open communication style with our customers

  • Maintain a healthy network of Span electrical subcontractors

    • Coordinate with subcontractors to set up installation, determine scope, etc

    • Help ensure new electrician partners meet Span’s standards for quality, professionalism, and representing the Span brand

    • Develop strong relationships with electrician partners that build upon trust, professionalism, quality workmanship, and an exceptional customer experience

    • Negotiate pricing and volume of jobs with installers as needed

  • Continuously improve Span’s installations

    • Problem solve unique situations as they arise

    • Assess, understand and communicate operational and customer experience hurdles to leadership

    • Identify areas for process improvement and assist with creating and revising the process to ensure better efficiency and customer experience

  • Understand and promote Span products and the Span brand

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years work experience in a customer service role, project management/coordination, electrical project experience and/or general construction (more experience preferred)

  • Experience in electrical permitting and AHJ approval process strongly preferred

  • Understanding of electrical panel installations and upgrades strongly preferred

  • Detail and process-oriented, extremely organized

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

  • Creative, mission-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

  • Self-starter, willing to take on additional responsibilities as the team continues to grow

  • Demonstrated passion for Span and a team-oriented personality

Bonus Qualifications

  • Understanding of solar photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage system installation

  • Understanding of electrical permitting and home renovations

  • Understanding of construction drawings

  • Hands-on experience with electrical wiring, construction, or project management
