We’re looking for a Senior Business Operations Partner to help amplify the VP R&D and the R&D Engineering Staff. As the Business Operations Partner of the VP R&D, you’ll be accountable to create and improve programs and processes to continually level-up and scale the R&D organization which has a size of 700.

 

You are communicating with the R&D Leadership Team (LT) members, and able to make effective decisions and execute on with the VP R&D to allow better coverage for the growing demands of the R&D organization. You have proven executive communication skills, as well as proficiency at facilitating, documenting and following up on executive meetings, decisions and strategic follow up.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner and support our VP R&D organization for unit wide communications, goal-setting/OKR’s, and process improvement strategy in coordination with yearly OpEx (dollars & headcount) budgeting and planning activities with ongoing tracking of performance against budget, in partnership with R&D Finance and HR partners.
  • Oversee daily operations through collaboration with senior management and department leaders by performing an array of administrative and operational tasks including generating correspondence and planning documentation.
  • Support decision making through research, analysis of information, and clear presentation of considerations.
  • Represent a singular thread to align leadership teams to ensure communication, projects, and action items running through Unity R&D are executed in togetherness, ultimately serving as a “force-multiplier” among Unity's leadership.
  • Drive and expedite conversations of the decision-making process with respect to business and engineering/development inquiries and help structure and develop action plans to address them and assist with the preparation and dissemination of strategic communication.
  • Partner with HR in support of people development activities including the yearly engagement survey, onboarding, manager development, and resource utilization.
  • Facilitate quarterly and annual planning of R&D development and delivery, business and product strategy for the R&D group, creating unit wide dashboards in collaboration with the head of production, and running quarterly business reviews.
  • Facilitate the VP R&D in the development of content for all hands, staff meetings, Board of Directors briefings, Press releases, Customer engagements materials.
  • Unity’s R&D Staff is made up of Unity’s various Engineering, Production and QA leaders. You’ll facilitate weekly meetings, all-hands and off-sites to improve our skills and the way we work together.

Requirements

  • Experience in business, operations, or program/project management roles.
  • Exceptionally organized and experienced in planning and leading strategic initiatives along with communicating cross-functionally among Leadership Team members, business units, departments, groups, and teams.
  • Authentic executive presence and comfortable working with senior leaders with emotional intelligence, empathy, and ability to establish trusting and strong relationships.
  • Previous experience with product development or supporting product development organizations is strongly desired.
