About the RoleThe Sr. Global Mobility & Immigration Program Manager is part of the People Strategy & Operations team and will be a key contributor to our global immigration strategy. The role of the Sr. Global Mobility & Immigration Program Manager is to own the end-to-end immigration lifecycle, and to build a scalable global mobility and immigration lifecycle process that supports DoorDash’s growth strategy.  This role will initially report to the Manager, People Operations. We are open to candidates based in San Francisco. We are also open to candidates that are willing to relocate post COVID-19; right now, the People Operations team is working remotely through at least June 2021.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…  

  • Manage the Global Mobility and Immigration Program and provide administration and support of day-to-day operations in partnership with our immigration vendor
  • Partner closely with immigration counsel to ensure compliance requirements are met and manage vendor relationships to provide an exceptional employee experience. 
  • Develop and continuously improve program policies and processes while maintaining up to date knowledge of immigration regulations and changes. 
  • Ensure data integrity and work with cross-functional business partners to ensure global mobility and immigration processes and systems are working as efficiently and effectively as possible. 
  • Facilitate training and develop resources and tools to educate Recruiting, HR Business Partners and internal stakeholders on immigration policy updates. 
  • Provide consultations to employees and cross-functional team members (i.e. HR Business Partners, Recruiters, Department leaders, Executive leaders) on immigration and global mobility-related matters and give strategic guidance to internal key stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing support and respond to inquiries from employees.
  • Develop and provide ongoing administration of the Global Mobility and Immigration Program, including managing the facilitation of domestic and international assignments (i.e. relocation, immigration, mobility tax). 
  • Create strategy plans and proposals regarding Global Mobility and Immigration and present to Executive stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to execute on dependencies related to Global Mobility (i.e. People Operations, Payroll, Employment Law, I-9/HR Compliance)

  • You have 5+ years of experience with global mobility and immigration processes, programs, vendor management, and systems in both a hyper growth environment and large company (4000+) in APAC, EMEA, and AMER regions
  • You have a positive and proactive  attitude about problem solving due to an ever changing immigration climate 
  • You can articulate and explain complex regulations, processes, issues in a simple and clear manner to stakeholders that are not familiar with immigration and global mobility 
  • You genuinely care about employees and want to be an advocate for them 
  • You are excited to build something from the ground up
  • You thrive in both an autonomous and collaborative environment 
  • You have experience establishing global mobility policies for large scale companies in multiple countries 
  • You have deep knowledge of mobility taxes (tax briefing, income tax, mobility payroll, tax equalization, year-end reporting, etc.)
  • You have experience managing immigration vendor relationship and holding a high bar of accountability for customer delight
  • You have knowledge of U.S. immigration and immigrant and non-immigration visas (i.e. H-1B, TN, E-3, O-1, PERM, I-140 filings, EB categories, etc.).
