Spin was known for launching the first stationless mobility program in Seattle, and has since expanded to become the exclusive electric scooter partner in mid-sized cities like Coral Gables, Florida and Lexington, Kentucky, and one of a few permitted scooter operators in large cities like Denver, Detroit, and Washington, D.C. The team embeds in cities and neighborhoods to understand their specific transportation needs, and hires locally from the community.

Spin is expanding quickly and looking for top-tier talent to help us bring affordable and accessible transportation options to cities and define what future safe streets will look like. 


About the role:

As a responsible mobility operator helping people get around in tens of cities and with thousands of vehicles, Spin champions the fundamental importance and mission-critical nature of safety. Whether it’s keeping riders safe when they’re out on the road, safeguarding critical private data, ensuring our incredible team members stay safe in every aspect of our operations, or making sure we respond swiftly and appropriately to every safety incident, we need a Team Safety Coordinator leading the industry in the breadth and effectiveness of our safety program in our Operations Department.

Spin is seeking a talented safety coordinator to bring policy-making, implementation, and operations expertise to our Operations Team. This individual will work closely with the Safety Operations Manager, Head of Trust & Safety, Labor Operations, and Market Operations, ensuring that safety is a core principle underlying everything we do, and that safety is implemented in operations protocols, processes and workplaces. The Team Safety Coordinator will proactively identify and address challenges to safety on any aspect of our software and hardware platforms or in any part of operations; respond quickly and appropriately to Safety incidents in our operating markets; and communicate the culture and practice of safety throughout our Operations team, hiring, and markets.


The right candidate will be:

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and enforce safety rules and playbooks from state and federal regulations and implementing them into regular operations protocols and processes.
  • Manage safety incidents and audits within the operations department, team, and workplaces
  • Collaborate with Market Operations leaders, key stakeholders, and all Spin teams to ensure the successful implementation of team and user safety initiatives and programs, including integration with existing responsibilities and processes in other teams.
  • Build a data-driven approach for all safety actions and programs, both in identifying and tackling problems and opportunities, and in tracking success against goals
  • Continuously update all protocols, processes, platforms, and tools that relate to safety across the organization.
  • Measure and report the success of safety compliance across all markets and operations staff.
  • Cooperate with the other Central Ops team members to make the safety programs more effective and relevant
  • Report on the overall safety status of workplaces across multiple markets to key operations leaders

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • At least 2 years of experience implementing and managing safety, compliance, or risk management programs within an operationally-focused company


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Versed/certified in OSHA or workplace compliance
  • Previous role(s) within safety or operations
  • Experience working on safety challenges in the transportation or technology sectors
