 About the team:

Our mission is to drive planning and execution of projects and programs for the R&D organization at Sift. Program management is responsible for initiating, coordinating and delivering cross-team R&D projects/programs for the company. We provide alignment on business priorities across engineering teams. We are responsible for assessing any requests from a team outside of R&D, understanding the impact on R&D’s existing priorities and creating a plan to address those requests based on their priorities. We are also responsible for evangelizing technical excellence of our product to non-R&D teams.

We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to help lead our success. Our team is growing, and our world is fast-paced and sophisticated. This role, as an individual contributor, serves as a cross-functional liaison for broader, coordinated ongoing work across engineering teams. You thrive on high-growth, high-impact opportunities at a growing startup.  You have a clear sense of how you can leverage your strengths and past experience while learning new things.  You excel at distilling simplicity from complexity, and creating order from ambiguity.

What you’ll do:

  • Articulate the technology, requirements, goals, and milestones of your area.
  • Manage cross-functional programs covering a range of areas.
  • Lead and prioritize strategic initiatives while working closely with teams across the organization, including partner teams around the world.
  • Tackle complex problems with a strategic mindset and create programs for solving those problems.
  • Proactively identify upcoming risks, inefficiencies, issues, and bottlenecks, and resolve cross-team issues.
  • Develop and manage end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Define and own metrics and key performance indicators.

What would make you a strong fit:

  • Ability to multi-task; working on multiple project teams and wearing multiple hats is a desired skill.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication, with the ability to articulate complex ideas effectively to peers and executives alike .
  • Proven self-starter with a positive attitude that thrives in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to build trust and collaborate across teams & functions.
  • Willingness to handle a large volume of report requests on a weekly basis.
  • Willingness to dig deep and build expertise in tools and systems.
  • Experience with distributed systems and/or highly scalable, customer-facing applications
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (e.g. GCP, AWS)
  • Strong communication & collaboration skills - a team-first, customer-first mindset
  • BS in Computer Science or related field
