Who we're looking for:

The ideal candidate is a senior technical leader with a strong program management background, a head for business, and a pragmatic, data-driven, strategic approach to problem-solving. The VP will have demonstrated examples of leadership shipping successful consumer products. S/he will be able to influence other leaders across different business and functional teams. Skillz will be looking for the VP of Program Management to continue to build out our project / program management team and establish processes and procedures to make the entire company run smoothly from product development to operations.

It's critical that the VP be able to establish credibility at the executive level and with key partners and have experience gaining consensus and approval for product planning efforts across multiple functional leaders. Lastly, it doesn’t hurt to love games!

What you'll do:

  • Manage a distributed team of Technical/Program Managers that drive projects across the entire company
  • Build out the project management team at Skillz
  • Manage communication of progress/status within the core team and partners
  • Refine and define new processes to make the organization more efficient and effective
  • Coordinate with senior leadership on top priorities and ensure that all teams are focusing on the right things
  • Drive technical projects from requirements through launch, including managing complex project schedules, removing roadblocks and keeping processes running smoothly
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Product Management and Operations teams to define, prioritize and implement features, infrastructure, processes and workflows

Your Skillz:

  • Proven ability to run and deliver results on large-scale, complex technical projects across several sites under tight deadlines
  • Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management
  • Ability to effectively operate with flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment
  • Demonstrated technical, analytical and quantitative skills
  • Exceptional people management and organizational development skill
