Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a 777/777X Flight Control System Service Engineer (Associate or Experienced) to join the team in Seal Beach, CA.
In this role, you will work directly with airline customers to address and resolve in-service airplane system issues related to Flight Controls System (i.e. The flight control system controls airplane movement around the lateral, longitudinal and vertical axes. This involves both primary (ailerons, elevators, rudder) and secondary (spoilers, horizontal stabilizer, leading-edge slats and flaps, trailing-edge flaps) flight control surfaces). Candidate will be an integral part of supporting all Boeing Commercial Airplane models in-service and development, including programs such as 747, 767, 777, 787, 737NG, 737MAX, 777X, and the next generation of commercial airplanes.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provides technical, design and informational support for basic production, product support or in-service issues. Troubleshoots basic system problems consistent with operational protocols.
- Supports analysis, definition and verification of basic requirements. May modify basic requirements based on defined requirements using approved processes and tools.
- Supports and/or creates and provides basic technical documentation (e.g. Fleet Team Digest articles, service letters, drawings, specifications, documents, data sets, design folders, test requirements documents, manuals) in accordance with engineering processes and procedures for internal reference or external delivery.
- Assists with the study and assessment of technology development by gathering data, supporting testing and documenting findings.
- Supports review of technical design, analysis, and production by reviewing documentation, participating in design reviews, and observing tests and audits to ensure compliance.
- Assists with the investigation of problems to provide engineering design disposition of discrepancies.
- Supports and/or leads the research of technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer.
- Assists in designing and/or providing analysis of interim and final engineering solutions to return airplanes to revenue service.
- Works with and possibly directing cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for complex design non-conformances.
- Assists in the development of customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Conducts research on technologies for potential application to company business needs.
- Assists in solving problems and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
- Assists other members of project or program teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions to meet group, organization, and company objectives.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 2+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Able and willing to occasionally work outside of standard 1st shift to support 24/7/365-day operation - Saturday and Sunday work will occasionally be required
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- LEVEL 3: 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2+ years of experience in Flight Control Systems is preferred
- Experience with Boeing 7-series airplanes
- Good verbal, written communication skills and presentation experience
- Experience collaborating with multiple team functions
- Experience with customer support
- Willingness to expand into technical areas without prior experience
- Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally 10% of the time
