Account Executive - K12 - Mid-Market

WeVideo is the leading full-cycle video learning platform for content creators, businesses of all sizes, and educational institutions.  We have a current opening for an Account Executive focused on a combination of the K12 markets to drive revenue growth, close deals, and expand market presence while honing their sales skills in a dynamic environment. This role provides a chance to demonstrate your sales skills and take your career to the next level in the field of sales.

In this role, you will:

  • Drive Sales & New Logo Acquisition: This is an outside sales role perfect for a candidate with a hunter mentality. Focus on identifying, prospecting, and closing new logos within K12 institutions and businesses. Develop a strategic approach to penetrate untapped markets, build your pipeline, and expand our market presence.
  • Outside Sales Focus: Engage in proactive outbound outreach and outside sales activities, including onsite visits, meetings with key stakeholders, and attending relevant industry conferences and events. Responsible for sourcing 90% of your own pipeline build and must have effective strategies and tactics to consistently hit pipeline sufficiency targets including daily cold call prospecting and multi-channel outbound communication. Travel is a required part of the role. Build rapport in person to strengthen relationships and close deals faster.
  • Vertical/Domain Expertise:  Maintain a deep understanding of the K12 sector. Knowledge or experience in the public, private or charter school sector is ideal for candidacy. Stay ahead of industry trends and apply insights to tailor your approach to address unique pain points in both markets.
  • Present Customized Solutions: Deliver targeted product demonstrations and presentations that highlight the value and ROI of WeVideo’s platform for educational institutions. Demonstrate how our solutions can support a district’s specific needs. . In this role, you will need a technical skillset to learn the product. This role will require strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Lead Complex Sales Cycles: Navigate long and complex sales cycles and build multi-level relationships with key decision-makers in schools. Be able to navigate up and down a power chain at an organization and lead an organization's buying committee through a sales process, step by step. Understand organizational priorities and deliver impactful solutions that align with their goals. Work a full sales cycle from start to finish. Be able to follow the process and execute on a multi-stage sales cycle and methodology with a qualification framework and specific exit criteria per sales stage.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with marketing, product, and customer success teams to align sales strategies, develop go-to-market plans for the K12 vertical, and ensure smooth client onboarding.  This role is great for sales candidates who like to help build and shape the strategy.
  • Build Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at schools. We are a customer-first atmosphere. 
  • Negotiate Contracts: Lead contract negotiations, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that align with both client needs and company objectives. Be able to work through complex procurement and legal processes for negotiation. 
  • Stay Informed and Growth Mindset: Keep up-to-date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and K12 policies to inform sales strategies. We are looking for a candidate who is committed to becoming a vertical expert and establishing their own credibility in the market by studying the K12 market, talking constantly to customers and prospects to gain market intelligence, and creating their own community of advocates online and in person.
  • Report Progress: Regularly report on sales activities, pipeline status, and forecasted revenue to senior management. Maintain pipeline health by analyzing pipeline reports and keeping the CRM up to date. 
  • Leverage the Sales Tech Stack: Utilize the sales technology tools daily to increase efficiency and effectiveness in the sales role. The tech stack includes Salesforce CRM, database/research tools for prospecting, use of AI at every stage of the sales process, conversation intelligence tools for sales calls, and an outbound/cadence tool for prospecting efforts.  

Requirements:

  • Experience in Sales: Proven track record of at least 3-5 years in sales, preferably in the education technology sector or selling to K12 public institutions and districts. 
  • Proven Success in Outside Sales Experience: Demonstrated ability to prospect, sell, and close new logos through outside sales activities. Experience with field sales, cold outreach, and attending networking events or industry conferences. Evidence of consistent attainment of sales performance against bookings targets. 
  • Vertical Knowledge: Deep understanding of the K12 sector, including its unique purchasing processes, challenges, and decision-making frameworks. Proven experience selling in these markets is highly preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the K12 industry, including trends, challenges, and key decision-making processes within schools.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex solutions clearly and persuasively to diverse stakeholders.
  • Relationship Building: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with K12 administrators, faculty, and other key decision-makers.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proficient in negotiating contracts and closing deals, with a focus on achieving mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to conduct thorough needs analysis and develop tailored sales strategies that align with client goals and organizational objectives.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with educational technology platforms and tools, with the ability to quickly learn and demonstrate new software products.
  • Self-motivated/Growth Mindset: Highly driven and results-oriented, with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer success.
  • Experience using Salesforce CRM
  • Bachelor’s Degree: A degree in business, education, or a related field is preferred, though relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Willingness to Travel: Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry conferences or events.

Salary Range: $130,000 - 150,000 OTE
