Account Executive – US PACFLT
Location: West Coast, USA (Preference: San Diego area)
Reports to: Director of Federal Business Captures
Position Overview
The Account Executive – PACFLT is responsible for pursuing and managing U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) programs with a primary focus on California-based commands and U.S. INDOPACOM. This role drives business development by promoting Sea Machines’ maritime autonomy systems and sensors, offered either as modular kits or turnkey USV (Unmanned Surface Vessel) solutions, to customers across the U.S. Navy, SOCOM, USMC, USCG, and to U.S. boat builders through partnerships and teaming arrangements.
The Account Executive leads efforts in shaping and responding to RFIs and RFPs, proactively develops new opportunities, and cultivates global business partnerships. Success requires proven experience in capturing and managing DoD programs, familiarity with U.S. and allied contracting vehicles, and deep knowledge of the marine and defense industry in the West Coast and Indo-Pacific regions.
This individual must possess excellent communication and proposal-writing skills, a strong technical foundation in marine machinery and vessel systems, and the ability to represent Sea Machines at industry events, demonstrations, and training exercises.Primary Responsibilities

- Develop and expand business with DoD customers across California and INDOPACOM.
- Shape and create new opportunities by tracking developments within the marine defense sector.
- Monitor, qualify, and respond to government solicitations (RFIs, RFPs, and tenders).
- Lead preparation of winning proposals that meet customer and contract requirements.
- Participate in and lead teaming arrangements with industry partners to strengthen offerings.
- Respond promptly to qualified leads generated from marketing, events, and web registrations.
- Organize and deliver presentations, demonstrations, sea trials, and customer training events.
- Maintain accurate CRM records for all sales and pipeline activities.
- Contribute insights and new ideas to support content marketing initiatives.
- 5+ years experience in the marine/maritime industry.
- 5+ years in sales, capture, or program management with DoD or government customers.
- Strong knowledge of marine vessels, navigation equipment, and vessel systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Military/Civil Maritime Studies, or equivalent at-sea leadership experience.
- Prior exposure to USV systems or possession of captain’s credentials preferred.
- Excellent writing, proposal, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, with ability to develop high-impact presentations and documentation.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%.
