About Prelude
Prelude Security is pioneering a new standard in security validation. Our platform helps organizations confidently answer the question, “Are we protected?” by continuously evaluating the effectiveness of security controls. We integrate seamlessly with existing tools to uncover control gaps, control health, and policy misconfigurations, empowering security teams to optimize defenses and proactively address risk.

Founded in 2021, Prelude is backed by top-tier investors and used by forward-thinking organizations to gain visibility into the state of their security posture in real time.

Role

We’re looking for an Account Executive to help grow Prelude’s customer base and expand our presence in the market. Our control monitoring product has a set of early customers, a product that works (and people love), and we need to start to expand. You should care deeply about the role of control monitoring and control validation, and ideally have experienced the pain inside of an organization struggling to identify controls.

You’ll own customer relationships end to end, from first conversation through close and expansion, guiding security leaders through a more modern approach to security control validation. Prelude helps organizations move from assumptions about security effectiveness to continuous, data-driven assurance, and your work will directly influence how that shift takes hold in the market.

You’ll work closely with GTM, Revenue Marketing, and our technical teams to deliver real customer value while building a predictable, scalable revenue motion.

Responsibilities

Generate and Shape Pipeline

  • Identify, prospect, and qualify new opportunities through outbound outreach, inbound demand, events, and partnerships.

  • Engage multiple stakeholders across the security organization, CISOs, SOC leads, IT,, and GRC teams, each with different priorities and success metrics.

Execute Sales Cycles

  • Lead discovery and tailored product demos that clearly articulate Prelude’s value across continuous control monitoring, control health, and validation workflows.

  • Develop a deep understanding of a customer’s environment, operational maturity, and security control gaps.

  • Own the full sales cycle from initial conversation through negotiation and close, maintaining accurate forecasting.

  • Act as a trusted advisor, helping customers operationalize control effectiveness and reduce risk.

Collaborate Across Teams

  • Partner closely with Technical Account Managers on deep-dive demos, trials, integrations, and onboarding.

  • Bring structured feedback from the field to Product and Engineering, including customer use cases, objections, and emerging trends.

Build Relationships and Drive Growth

  • Establish strong, trusted relationships with champions and executive sponsors.

  • Identify and drive expansion opportunities as new teams, integrations, or validation workflows come into scope.

  • Serve as a thought partner to security leaders focused on continuously improving their security posture through validated controls.

Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in enterprise SaaS sales, ideally in cybersecurity, DevSecOps, or adjacent technical markets.

  • Proven ability to meet or exceed quota in a consultative, solution-oriented sales environment.

  • Comfortable explaining technical concepts, detections, telemetry, integrations, policies, and cloud or endpoint controls, to both technical and executive audiences.

  • High-ownership mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment with evolving processes.

  • Experience collaborating closely with technical, GTM, and marketing teams to support onboarding, adoption, and long-term customer success.
