About Clipboard

Our mission is to uplift as many communities as possible. We do this through our app-based marketplace that connects healthcare professionals with the workplaces that need amazing workers. This enables hundreds of thousands of people to achieve financial stability for themselves and their families while providing essential care to millions of people across the U.S.

Founded in 2016, we are a remote-first team of over 1,000 people building a top Y-Combinator company and have been profitable since 2022. We’re the leader in Long-Term Care staffing and are rapidly expanding into Home Health, Hospitals, and more, meaning we have more work to do than people to do it, and are growing our team to support millions more people and their communities.

Account Executive, Rural Markets

About the Role

As an Account Executive, you’ll be responsible for expanding Clipboard’s presence across rural communities throughout the United States. You’ll identify new opportunities, build relationships with Long-Term Care facility leaders, sign new facility partners, and help them successfully adopt our platform.

Most of your prospecting and relationship-building will happen remotely through phone, email, and video. However, success in this role also requires getting into the field. You should expect to travel approximately one week per month to rural communities for in-person facility visits, customer meetings, and local market development. Travel will often involve multiple facility visits across a region and may require overnight stays.

Your success will be measured primarily by the revenue generated from new customers, along with your ability to build a strong and sustainable pipeline in the markets you own.

What You’ll Do
  • Prospect, pitch, and close new Long-Term Care facility partners through a combination of inside sales and in-person relationship building

  • Travel approximately one week per month to rural communities for facility visits, customer meetings, and market development

  • Build relationships with facility administrators, clinical leaders, operators, and other key decision-makers

  • Create new demand in markets where Clipboard may have limited brand awareness or an early-stage presence

  • Develop thoughtful travel plans that maximize the number and quality of facility visits within each region

  • Attend relevant conferences, Clipboard-hosted events, and other industry functions

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Long-Term Care landscape, our customers’ operational challenges, and the competitive environment

  • Partner with internal teams to ensure new customers receive an excellent experience and successfully adopt the platform

  • Maintain accurate pipeline, activity, and opportunity data in our CRM

  • Own your territory and consistently deliver against new-business revenue goals

Who You Are and What You Bring

We’re building a team with a range of experience levels. You may already be an accomplished field seller, or you may be earlier in your career and ready for a role with significant autonomy, travel, and growth potential.

You bring:

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills across both clinical and business audiences

  • Comfort initiating conversations, walking into facilities, and building relationships in person

  • A willingness to travel approximately one week per month, including overnight trips to rural communities

  • Curiosity, persistence, resourcefulness, and a bias for action

  • The ability to create opportunities rather than relying solely on inbound interest or an established pipeline

  • Strong organization and autonomy in managing your schedule, territory, travel, and sales pipeline

  • Comfort working remotely while remaining highly accountable for your results

  • Experience in B2B sales, business development, healthcare, staffing, hospitality, or another relationship-driven environment

  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet the transportation requirements associated with regional facility visits

Experience selling into Long-Term Care or another healthcare setting is helpful, but it is not required. More important is your ability to learn the industry, earn trust, and consistently generate new business.

What We Offer
  • Competitive base salary and uncapped commission

  • Insurance benefits and 401(k) options

  • Unlimited PTO and flexible holidays

  • Reimbursement for approved mileage and business travel expenses

  • Remote flexibility when you are not travelling

  • Meaningful ownership over your markets and customer relationships

  • A clear growth path into senior individual contributor or management roles
