What we're looking for

We're seeking an Account Executive to join our growing team. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of our sales efforts, focusing on both acquiring new business and expanding existing accounts. You'll work closely with founders to identify and pursue new sales opportunities, build a robust pipeline, and close deals that drive our company's growth. The ideal candidate will have a keen sense for strategically prioritizing sales efforts in a fast-paced startup

Location: Remote (USA) or Hybrid (Chicago)

Responsibilities
  • Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities

  • Execute the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals

  • Lead the renewal process for existing accounts

  • Meet or exceed assigned sales quotas and revenue targets

  • Collaborate with founders and executive team to refine sales strategies and close high-value deals

  • Work closely with leadership to develop the sales playbook, defining go-to-market strategies

  • Serve as a product expert, evangelizing Grid Status solutions for data, analysis, and visualization needs across the energy industry

  • Provide market insights and customer feedback to inform product development and company strategy

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities in the CRM system

Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in SaaS sales, preferably in the energy sector or related industries

  • Proven track record of driving account growth and retention in a startup environment

  • Demonstrated ability to present and demo software products

  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills, with the ability to manage complex projects independently

  • Knowledge of the energy sector - familiarity with wholesale power markets is a significant plus
