Account Manager

The primary responsibility of the person in this position is to strategically grow sales and increase the Golden West (GW)’s profitability by developing, leading, and driving the GWPG sales strategy to identify and gain sales contracts that benefit the customer and advance Golden West profitable business growth strategies. 

 

  • Identify and target new business opportunities through strategic prospecting, market research and networking
  • Conduct sales presentations, pitches, and product demonstrations to showcase our packaging solutions
  • Collaborate with other team members on the development of customized packaging products and service solutions to increase customer satisfaction and optimize GW’s sales profitability within a given product or market category.
  • Generate new business opportunities in assigned categories to grow sales and increase Golden West’s market share
  • Forecast sales projections, track performance metrics, and provide regular reports to management
  • Stay current to market and customer trends and developments for given categories to identify new sales opportunities to expand existing customer sales volumes and new sales opportunities
  • Ensure sales meet contributions margin requirements and ensure GW’s business sustainability
  • Develop strategies to expand GW’s business and profitability
  • Research competition and business climate for category to identify and mitigate risk of potential business threats and to optimize potential business opportunities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for existing customers, building strong relationships and understanding their needs
  • Define business plans and strategies for assigned category to gain market share and maximize profitability and execute against such strategies to achieve plans
Qualifications

Required skills, knowledge and abilities:

  • Effective sales skills using a data-based, solution sales approach
  • Proven track record of successful selling
  • Strong organizational skills, discipline and attention to detail
  • Customer focused mentality and approach to business
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of industry packaging needs and solutions
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong collaboration, interpersonal and relationship building skills

Required education and experience:

  • B.S/A. in business administration or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in sales and solutions sales with a proven track record of success
  • Experience in packaging industry is desired

California Pay Transparency Disclaimer: This is an Exempt position. The pay range for this position is $90,000.00 to $135,000.00. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon several factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, education, experience, internal equity and alignment with market data.
