We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounting Analyst to support our growing multi-state organization. This position plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial operations by supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax compliance activities, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.

The Accounting Analyst will work closely with internal departments, external vendors, and third-party tax providers to ensure financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. This position is based onsite in Sacramento and requires collaboration across multiple business functions.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting Operations & Financial Reporting
  • Support day-to-day accounting operations and financial processes.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, account analysis, and balance roll-forwards.
  • Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Research, analyze, and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues.
  • Assist with financial reporting and special accounting projects as assigned.
Accounts Receivable & Cash Management
  • Manage incoming customer payments and cash application processes.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Monitor aging receivables and support collection efforts.
  • Assist in optimizing cash flow through timely follow-up on outstanding balances.
Accounts Payable Administration
  • Support weekly accounts payable processing, including check runs, ACH payments, and vendor disbursements.
  • Ensure vendor payments are processed accurately and timely.
  • Maintain vendor records and assist with payment-related inquiries.
Tax Compliance & Business Registrations
  • Assist with state tax registrations and account setup activities related to company growth and expansion.
  • Coordinate with third-party tax providers to ensure timely and accurate filings.
  • Monitor compliance with payroll tax, sales tax, nexus, and corporate tax requirements.
  • Support tax reporting and documentation requests as needed.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with internal departments to support financial and operational initiatives.
  • Provide accounting support for business expansion projects and organizational growth efforts.
  • Assist leadership with ad hoc reporting and financial analysis requests.
Performance Expectations
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in financial transactions and reporting.
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned accounting and reconciliation activities.
  • Support successful month-end close processes and reporting deadlines.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable accounting standards and tax requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the accounting function.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service when supporting internal and external stakeholders.
QualificationsQualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP/accounting systems preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial compliance requirements.
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management processes.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with team members.
  • Ability to work onsite five (5) days per week in the Sacramento office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting multi-state organizations.
  • Experience with payroll tax, sales tax, and nexus compliance requirements.
  • Prior experience within a service-based organization.
  • Experience working in a multi-location environment.
  • Familiarity with unionized workforce environments.
