POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounting Generalist is responsible for completing on-site accounting activities including data entry

in the following areas: accounts payable, accounts receivable and billing

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for learning and completing the job duties of the following positions: Accounts

Receivable Clerk; Accounts Receivable Billing Clerk; Accounts Payable Clerk.

• Complete the job duties of all on-site accounting functions through the supervision of the Accounting Supervisor.

• Assist in attaining financial goals.

• Responsible for ensuring the timely billing of assigned direct bill accounts with complete backup and accurate invoices.

• Maintain all of the daily e-filing of required documents, databases and spreadsheets and update information timely.

• Possess excellent organizational skills to keep meticulous records with attention to detail and the approach to follow through.

• Assist in resolution of customer disputes and requests for clarification in a timely manner.

• Display an understanding of the general accounting processes.

• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

• Associate’s degree in Accounting/Finance or 2 years of accounting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• Six months experience in accounting, bookkeeping or relevant combination of training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the above duties.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. 

• Knowledge of accounting systems such as Intacct or related, and an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software preferred.

this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee
must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include
close vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
