What you'll Be Doing: The Revenue Accounting Manager is a proactive and detail-oriented individual who will take full ownership of the accurate and timely recording of revenue transactions, reconciling revenue accounts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This role will also be key in implementing new revenue recognition standards and process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and revenue recognition standards (such as ASC 606) and experience working with ERP systems.

*This role is based onsite in Pleasanton, CA Monday through Friday*

Compensation

  • Base Annual Salary: $140,000 - $150,000
  • Annual Bonus: Up to 10%

Your Impact: 

- Manage full cycle revenue accounting/reporting:

    • Review and interpret contracts to ensure proper revenue accounting/reporting.
    • Take ownership of month-end close, revenue recognition, flux/trend analysis and ensuring GAAP compliance across all financial reporting activities.
    • Lead implementation of new revenue recognition standards and policies.
    • Prepare and review revenue journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards (ASC 606).
    • Reconcile revenue accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
    • Assist in preparing financial statements and analytic reports.
    • Partner with the FP&A team to investigate variances between actual results and forecasts and assist in the budgeting process as needed

    - Manage fManage daily Accounts Receivable (A/R) operations including:

    • Invoicing, payment posting and application, account reconciliations and adjustments. 
    • Review/reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for  and properly posted. 
    • Manage A/R aging by customer and follow up with customers regarding payments, payment status and chargebacks. 
    • Research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts to resolve billing/invoice inquiries, discrepancies, problems, etc. 
    • Collaborate with the FP&A, Business Intelligence, Engineering, Sales & Legal teams to ensure data integrity and timely reporting.
    • Partner with operations and external partners on all merchant processing matters  

    - Lead or assist with any ad hoc requests or process automation/ improvements
    - Coordinate internal & external audit and tax requests, including preparation of supporting reports and documentation. 


    What you Bring: 

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or finance (or related degree). Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in Revenue Accounting function.
    • Revenue Accounting experience in SaaS industry is highly preferred.
    • Solid understanding of end-to-end accounting processes, including AR, month-end close, revenue recognition, and GAAP principles.
    • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (can maintain complex spreadsheets). 
    • NetSuite experience is preferred. 
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritize/balance multiple tasks in order to meet team goals and deadlines. 
    • Willingness to contribute beyond the defined role to meet our needs as circumstances require. 
    • Critical thinking skills to identify process improvements and efficiencies. 
    • An eye for detail; you triple-check your work to ensure the accuracy of accounting records
