Job Summary

As an Administrative Assistant for Golden State Claims Adjusters, you will assist the claims department and claims adjusters with clerical, data entry, mail, and receptionist duties. These duties include setting up new claims, sending out letters, processing incoming and outgoing mail, answering phones, and providing clerical support as needed.

This role will report onsite in our Carlsbad office 5 days a week. Onsite attendance is required.

Position Responsibilities

  • Set up new claims by taking incoming calls, emails and faxes containing new loss information and input the information and match it with a policy to create an electronic claim file
  • Set up and code new losses
  • Track new assignments and closings
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail and match to existing claim files
  • Answer inbound phone calls from insureds, claimant, brokers and other constituents and assist in directing them to the appropriate parties or answer any questions
  • Distribute incoming faxes and voicemails appropriately
  • Process payments to vendors
  • Enter new contacts (w-9 processing)
  • Download and send claim files to attorneys upon request
  • Basic reporting
  • Assist adjusters with certified copies of policies, printing and mailing of letters, downloading documents into claim file, sending electronic copies of claim files to third parties

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year of related experience and/or training
  • Minimum one year of customer service experience required
  • Experience in the commercial insurance industry is a plus, but not required
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products 
  • Ability to learn claims software and other necessary tools
  • Willing to report onsite in Carlsbad 5 days a week


The starting hourly pay scale for this position is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on factors such as skills, qualifications, training, and experience. In addition, the company offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) plan with match, paid time off, and other benefits.

ISC's salary ranges are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

$20.49$25.61 USD
