This temporary position is located at _1915 Health Services Way, Raleigh, NC 27607_ - Wake County, with the Department of Health and Human Services. 

The admin will receive DHHS training, enabling them to provide special assistance to the team through monitoring current service contracts with vendors and taking the lead on new requisitions when required by the Comms leadership team.  When needed, the employee will consult with other DHHS departments (Contracts and Procurement, Budget and Analysis, and General Counsel) for additional support and clarification. This position may also provide occasional lunchtime and backup support at the front reception desk at DHHS Headquarters Building (HQ).

 
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $21.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).  
 
Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed in the class specification.  The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.

 

Management Preferences:

  •  Background in contracts, purchasing, and/or procurement.
  • Attention to details such as renewal dates, expirations, and billing changes.
  • Answering phones, greeting employees and guests, and assisting the parking liaisons with occasional concerns.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office tools, including Teams, Webex, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, Outlook, Word, and SharePoint. Assist multiple professionals with administrative and clerical support and effectively manage their scheduling needs and meeting activities.
  • Ability to support meetings, including managing setup operations and note-taking.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to be flexible and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to present ideas clearly and effectively in written form
  • Ability to adjust language or terminology to meet the needs of the audience
  • Ability to use correct grammar, organization, and structure.

Minimum Education and Experience

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
