Nymbus (https://nymbus.com/) is not just a leader in fintech; we are a community of innovators passionate about reimagining banking. Our modern core platform and cloud based technology serve as the backbone for financial institutions eager to modernize and excel.

Nymbus is building the next generation of fintech platforms and that requires a new kind of product ownership. This role sits at the intersection of product, design, engineering, and AI. You will not just contribute to products; you will help redefine how they are built.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

We are a remote first company, with occasional travel required for team collaboration or client engagement.

POSITION SUMMARY:

At Nymbus, we are redefining what it means to be a Product Owner.

This role is for AI first builders, individuals who actively design, specify, and help develop products in close collaboration with engineering. You will not simply manage backlogs or run ceremonies. Instead, you will own product intent, define system behavior, and produce high quality, implementation ready specifications that drive execution across the full software development lifecycle.

You will operate with a design first and specification first mindset, leveraging AI tools such as Kiro and Claude to accelerate discovery, iteration, and delivery. This role requires strong product judgment, technical fluency, and a willingness to challenge traditional models of how software is built.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Design and Specification

  • Own end to end product design from problem definition through system behavior and user experience.
  • Author clear, testable, implementation ready specifications.
  • Define APIs, data models, and interaction patterns in partnership with engineering.
  • Use AI tools to rapidly iterate on designs, edge cases, and alternative approaches.

AI First Development

  • Leverage AI to generate and refine product and technical specifications.
  • Prototype and validate solutions before committing to implementation.
  • Push product work beyond requirements into hands-on collaboration with development.
  • Support implementation workflows across front end and back end where needed.

Engineering Collaboration

  • Partner closely with engineering on API design, data modeling, and system architecture.
  • Participate directly in technical design discussions and tradeoff decisions.
  • Reduce ambiguity and rework through high quality inputs and shared context.

Domain Ownership (Fintech Systems)

Apply expertise in one or more domains such as:

  • Core Banking including account structures, posting models, settlement processes, and data integrity.
  • Digital Banking including account opening, onboarding workflows, KYC and CIP, and user experience design.
  • Lending including loan lifecycles, servicing logic, payments, and exception handling.
  • Payments and Cards including transaction flows, authorization and settlement, and integration patterns.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 plus years in product roles within fintech, banking, or financial services.
  • Experience working with core banking or digital banking platforms.
  • Strong understanding of complex, regulated environments and financial workflows.
  • Proven ability to design systems and workflows, not just define requirements.
  • Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams on technical solutions.

Technical Fluency

  • Understanding of REST APIs, data modeling, and system interactions.
  • Familiarity with front end concepts and user experience behavior.
  • Ability to engage in technical discussions and translate product intent into system design.

AI First Mindset

  • Curiosity and hands on experience with AI assisted workflows.
  • Willingness to experiment with tools and rethink traditional product practices.

Core Traits

  • High Agency: Takes ownership and drives outcomes without heavy process.
  • Problem Solver: Thrives in ambiguity and frames problems clearly.
  • Experimenter Mindset: Tests ideas quickly and iterates using data and feedback.
  • Quality Driven: Focuses on clarity, correctness, and long term maintainability.
  • Scale Oriented: Designs with performance, extensibility, and operational realities in mind.
  • Ownership: Measures success by what is delivered and the impact it creates.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • End to end ownership from problem definition through launch and iteration.
  • AI first execution that accelerates design, specification, and delivery.
  • High quality specifications that reduce ambiguity and speed development.
  • Strong alignment between product and engineering through shared context.
  • Faster delivery cycles and measurable customer and business impact.
  • Products that are intentionally designed and cohesively built.

SALARY & BENEFITS:

  • $150,000 - $180,000 Annual Salary
  • Annual Cash Bonus and Equity Options commensurate with the role level and experience
  • 100% Remote
  • 401(k) plan
  • Insurance - Health, Dental and Vision
  • Paid Time Off
