Poshmark’s AI/ML team is looking for an intern who can deliver on some of the most challenging Data Science/ML initiatives. As a market leader in Social Commerce, Poshmark faces a unique opportunity to utilize our massive multi-platform social and commerce data to shape social commerce and create value for our users. With 400+ MM events per day and 30+ terabytes of exponentially growing data, Poshmark presents a unique opportunity to innovate cutting edge AI/ML products. This internship provides an opportunity to learn about and contribute to Machine learning initiatives across product, marketing, Posh markets, operations and community and help solve some of the most challenging problems in social commerce like pricing, search ranking, product and people recommendation, fraud prevention and many more.
⚙️ What You’ll DoBuild and deploy Machine Learning models to solve business problems
Create a readable and comprehensive documentation of your work
Implement new algorithms or tweak existing algorithms based on research papers
Work on POCs to establish the feasibility of solving problems the existing team has not yet worked on
Partner and collaborate with other AI/ML engineers and scientists
Pursuing or just finished a degree in relevant quantitative field such as Statistics, Math, Computer Science or Data Science
Familiarity with Machine Learning techniques and concepts (e.g. regression, classification, loss functions, evaluation metrics, ensembles, cross validation)
Experience with Python, SQL, Java or Scala
Familiarity with Spark or any other big data processing framework is a plus
Good understanding of data structures and algorithms
Good understanding of ML lifecycle and system architecture.
Good written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to learn new tools and techniques to get things done
Standard Requirements for All Interns
Demonstrated interest in Poshmark’s mission, community, or industry
Current or rising senior enrolled in an accredited university, or recent college graduate
Seniors should expect to graduate between Fall 2026 and Summer 2027
Strong communication, collaboration, and curiosity
Available to work a M-F 5-day work schedule between 8am-5pm
Willing to commute 5x per week to PMHQ in Redwood City, CA
