About Allogene:

Allogene Therapeutics, with headquarters in South San Francisco, is a clinical-stage biotechnology company pioneering the development of allogeneic chimeric antigen receptor T cell (AlloCAR T) products for cancer and autoimmune disease. Led by a management team with significant experience in cell therapy, Allogene is developing a pipeline of “off-the-shelf” CAR T cell product candidates with the goal of delivering readily available cell therapy on-demand, more reliably, and at greater scale to more patients.

About the role:

This is a consulting engagement to help define and advance the company’s enterprise AI roadmap, partnering with internal teams to evaluate solutions, support adoption, and recommend governance practices. Scope and duration to be defined in the consulting agreement.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and advise on the enterprise AI product roadmap, working across business functions to identify, prioritize, and deliver AI use cases that align with the company’s strategic objectives
  • Evaluate and recommend AI vendor platforms and tools (e.g., large language models, generative AI, ML operations platforms), leading proof-of-concept engagements and building the business case for adoption
  • Partner with IT leadership, business stakeholders, and external vendors to define AI product requirements, success criteria, and rollout plans
  • Partner with Cybersecurity and Infrastructure teams to support review of AI tools and platforms against applicable security, access, and operational standards prior to deployment
  • Lead AI adoption initiatives across functions—facilitating change management, user enablement, and governance frameworks to ensure responsible and compliant AI use
  • Establish and maintain an AI governance framework, in partnership with relevant functions, including risk assessment, usage guidance, and compliance considerations for AI tools used in regulated contexts
  • Collaborate with the Corporate systems teams to ensure AI initiatives are grounded in high-quality, well-governed data assets
  • Serve as the primary IT liaison to R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, CMC, and Training teams on AI opportunities, tracking emerging tools and assessing applicability to Allogene’s pipeline and operations
  • Develop and deliver training and enablement programs to build AI literacy across the organization, equipping end users and functional leaders to adopt approved AI tools safely and effectively
  • Develop and maintain an AI use case registry, tracking initiative status, ROI metrics, and lessons learned
  • Present AI program updates, roadmap progress, and key recommendations to leadership

Position Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Life Sciences, or related field (or relevant experience); advanced degree preferred; 8+ years of experience in product management, enterprise technology, or related role in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry is required
  • Demonstrated experience managing AI/ML or GenAI product initiatives, including vendor evaluation, tool deployment, and stakeholder alignment in a complex organization
  • Strong understanding of large language model (LLM) platforms and generative AI technologies, with hands-on experience evaluating or deploying leading enterprise AI solutions
  • Working knowledge of GxP-adjacent environments and the compliance considerations relevant to AI use in clinical, regulatory, or quality contexts
  • Experience working in or with biotech/pharma organizations; familiarity with key life sciences and enterprise platforms is a plus
  • Ability to bridge technical and business conversations—translating AI capabilities into business outcomes and communicating tradeoffs clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives, navigate ambiguity, and build alignment across cross-functional teams
  • Completion of formal AI/ML training, certification, or equivalent professional development (e.g., cloud provider AI certifications, recognized GenAI or responsible AI programs) is a plus
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks, and security/compliance considerations relevant to enterprise AI (e.g., GDPR, HIPPA) is a plus

We offer a chance to work with talented people in a collaborative environment and provide a top-notch compensation. The expected hourly range for this role is $90 to $100 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, business needs, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
