About Aegis AI

Aegis AI is building the next generation of email security — powered by AI agents that think and act like human analysts. Our mission is to keep users safe. Our agents stop Phishing and Spam attacks before they reach employees, using hundreds of specialized models that collaborate autonomously across inboxes.

Our team was founded by the Google security leaders who built Gmail and Chrome Security. Backed by Accel and Foundation Capital, we’re transforming how enterprises protect their people from modern social engineering threats.

The Role

We’re looking for an AI Product Manager to lead the roadmap for Aegis AI’s threat detection engine — the core layer that identifies, classifies, and explains modern email attacks.

This roleis at the heart of our mission: improving detection performance while maintaining precision and trust. You’ll collaborate closely with data scientists, AI engineers, and security researchers to design how our multi-agent AI system learns from adversarial behavior, detects zero-day threats, and continuously improves through real-world feedback.

Your work will directly impact the system’s ability to uncover sophisticated attacks, account compromise, and deep social engineering attempts that legacy tools miss.

Responsibilities

1. Understand the Threat Environment

  • Investigate real-world attacks and their associated data, threat reports to uncover detection gaps and trends.

  • Partner with the Engineering team, security analysts and customers to understand attacker tactics, behaviors, and potential false-negative patterns.

  • Synthesize insights from data and detections into actionable intelligence to inform the product direction.

2. Design and Prioritize the Detection Roadmap

  • Define the roadmap for Aegis’ detection systems — focusing on AI agents, underlying model improvements, and signal coverage.

  • Work closely with AI Engineering and Security/Threat Intel analysts to translate threat insights into detection requirements.

  • Set success metrics around precision and recall; track performance and iterate.

3. Communicate Detection to Customers

  • Collaborate with GTM teams to clearly explain how detections work and what type of threats they catch.

  • Publish thought leadership pieces from Aegis’ threat intelligence

  • Build internal tools and narratives that help customers trust, validate, and adopt our products to protect their organizations.

  • Translate technical results into compelling value stories around protection, ROI, and visibility.

4. Work with Engineering to Implement and Deploy Improvements

  • Partner with AI and Infra teams to operationalize detection models safely, efficiently, and at scale.

  • Define requirements for detection improvements, feedback loops, and evaluation pipelines.

  • Ensure rapid iteration between research, development, and production rollout.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience.

  • Strong understanding of ML and AI fundamentals: model training, evaluation, and deployment.

  • Proven ability to balance model performance with precision and explainability requirements.

  • Skilled at translating complex technical problems into clear, measurable product goals.

  • Experienced working cross-functionally with research, data, and engineering teams.

  • Exceptional communication skills — you can discuss embeddings and evaluation metrics as comfortably as customer pain points.

  • Strong ability to balance working with Customers directly + Engineering + GTM teams.

  • If you’re an ex founder or are looking to learn about becoming one. Our Product Managers are expected to behave like GMs and true owners of their space perfectly preparing you to run your own business/P&L. You will be learning from Product Leads with >20 years of combined experience in Product Management from Google.

  • (Bonus) Experience in cybersecurity, email security, or fraud detection systems.

  • (Bonus) Familiarity with transformer models, fine-tuning, or agentic architectures.
